Jaimin Shah's Review On St. Francis Institute Of Technology - [SFIT], Mumbai

I gave Mh-CET exam and scored 145/200 in it. I got admission in another college for Mechanical engg., but then I had to opt for IT because my family background is of IT engineers and St. Francis is one of the best institutes in Mumbai. I got the admission by normal CAP procedure.

The course curriculum was good, but not of much practical use. It just took care of theoretical concepts more. The electives offered were interesting and useful too. The programming subjects should be more inclined towards practical knowledge than theoretical.

No, They do not provide any internship opportunities. Not at least till our batch. But the placements were good.

The placements are quite satisfactory and provided jobs to almost all the students. Companies like Accenture, TCS, Mu Sigma, CEX, L&T Infotech, Hexaware, etc. offered jobs through placements held in the college. Most of the MNCs provided a package of 3-3.5 lacs. Some of the companies which were product based offered greeater packages, ranging from 4.5 to 7.0 lacs.

The fee structure is quite feasible with around 50k as tuition fees and totalling to around 60k. It increased as per the shikshan shulk samiti's directives but is never very high hike. It was inclusive of library and gymkhana fees too. Even scholarship to minorities and toppers was given.

The college provided scholarship to minorities through the university scheme of scholarship. Other than that, an incentive to toppers was given to motivate them.

Seniors are generally very helpful. There's no threat of ragging or such activities. They used to help us for notes, festival celebration and participation.

The faculty was good, most of it well-qualified and interested in teaching the respective subjects. The lecturers were mainly from IT background and from B.E. graduate to PhD (our HOD was a PhD). They were knowledgeable and most of them knew how to share
