Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I personally choose ba english cause i am very mych interested in literature of every kind and we mostly have old texts but everything is still like valid and has the same effects we have changing professors and subjects in each semester and currently there are interesting subjects such as indian writing in English and women's writing also and all the professors try their vest to have a very interactive class and get the viewpoints from students as well while teaching exams are not that difficult if study well cause nothing comes out of syllabus given. In total there are 3 ca's test in this 2 are written 50 marks each and one out of 3 ca is like presentation or anything the professor wish like it can be written document or even a play this is also 50 marks it has 50% weightage and two are choosen for this calcucation the ones u have highest marks in and then after these there are end of semester examination they are of 100 marks and weights 50% in the total calculation of sem marks

Internships Opportunities

4

Mcc offers interdisciplinary internships for students and research scholars from institutions in India and around the world. These programs intend to bridge gaps between different disciplines and encourages the sharing of knowledge, skills and expertise. Participants will have a hands-on experience leading to new perspectives and creative solutions to problems and situations. The Internship programs offered by the Departments will help students gain valuable experience and opportunities to broaden their horizon in their fields of study. International Interdisciplinary Internships are also offered to students from institutions outside india. there is a special placement cell which helps students not only with jobs but also whith any of their future plans like studying abroad etc and its still expanding its horizon for tge students sake. Some of the companies are ford, idusland bank, tcs tata, wipro, cams, epi Episource, tech for india, athena health.

Placement Experience

4

I am currently in semester 5th and you become eligible for placement information and application as you enter your final year in my case which is 3rd year for undergraduate programes i am still in my starting of the semester so there are not many companies i know but some of them are siri sankara global academy, myways ai, grant Thornton bharabharat llp, gtt barclays and tns capgemini and as its just my starting of the final year there are many more to come. Around 80% of students get placements every year in our course. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA. The average salary package is 4.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package is 2 LPA. Zoho, TCS, Deloitte, Sutherland, Wipro, and Accenture are the top recruiting companies. I personally am not too sure about my future i have many plans and interests but i don't know what to do right now but hopefully i will be more sure about it in my final semester or as i finish my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are two batches morning (aided) and evening (self aided) as the name suggests aided courses are slightly less expensive and in comparison to other colleges i found the fees structure not so bad and it total for my degree of three years it costs around 50k and its online to pay so very convenient and there are several scholarships too if your family income is below the mentioned level or you belong to a certain minority and its very easy to apply for if u pass all the term and conditions for it. If want to work on campus that if also available i guess its around 100 ruppes per day u can choose from various options such as work in library or writing in college magazine or any other part time these are they only ones i know and stipends are also available ar per your course.

Campus Life

4

Deepwoods is annual intercollegiate fest its a three day fest with various events but not only this thefe are annual department programs also which gave interdepartmental competition and many performances too. I can just say that the Miller library is so big and have many books but if u want to know about details about the library u can type mcc chennai library and read about its history and exact numbers of books and other stuf it has but all i can say is that i can spend dayss in that library. It has area in library with computers also and a research area also. There are various sports competition always going on and tge campus being so big it also gas various fields required for sports. And there are various society's like nss and ncc and committees which are required for each program or events held and each department has its own set of annual and other events which provides a lot of social interactions among students and a safe environment on the campus.

Admission

All those who have passed their 12th examination can apply for tge course interested in. Most of the updates about admissions about applications are easily available on mcc chennai website and u can easily check any changes or doubt u may have on their site its very efficient abd convenient. Admission process is online but after that there is a documents verification consultation which u have to physically present and application fees was around 50 rupees if remember correctly and the portal for application opens soon after tnsb 12th results and cbse students should also apply as soon as they get their results. I didn't have to give any test for admission it was based on merit system but from next year u will have to pass an entering examination for admissions which i think won't be very difficult hopefully. Reservation norms are based on that of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Faculty

In english department aided stream there are in total around 16 professors most of the senior professors have doctrate degrees and phd and i never felt that they knew less or not qualified or something i always felt like they are my seniors and in the very right profession and they deserve their jobs abd want to treat them with respect despite being so much education and knowledgeable most of them are friendly and very interactive in class and most of them don't mind students approaching them directly for any doubt regarding studies or even personal and try there best to come up with a solution.

Placement Experience:

Our college provides placement. At first they will conduct some training programme for those students who are all interested and paid fee for placements after that based on the performance of the students in the interviews they got selected. Companies like Accenture and many others come forward. The percentage of the students getting placed is depends on good performance. I planned to look forward for some jobs by cracking some exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well the course provides almost everything which is needed and available. This is not a normal economics course as it involves statistics, python, core math and also dives into data science. This allows the students to explore various subjects and can choose which is their best fileld. The curriculum overall is very rigorous and intense but you can crack it if you study regularly. About the frequencies of the examinations, we have 2 internal examinations and 1 end semester examination. I can guarantee that this course is super rigorous but im not sure if i would necessarily say that the course is "practical" and it helps us in the real word. I cannot comment on the practicality of the courses. The exams are not super difficult and its moderate. Getting more than 90% can be challenging although clearing the paper won't be an impossible task.

College facilitates campus placements every year for students passing out from the institution. Students are eligible to attend placements from their 6th semester. College also extends students to passed out candidates, 2yrs from their passed out year. Huge giants from IT and Non-IT sector, such as Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, and many more, would conducts placements in our college. Other sectors, like hospitality, schools, healthcare would also conduct interviews on campus. The highest average package offered varies from 3.5LPA for IT Profiles to 2.5LPA for Non-IT profiles, considering all are freshmen with no experience. Every year, on an average, 60% students get placed through campus interviews and placements. I am currently working as a HR in a Consultancy Company, a job that I acquired through campus placement drive.
