Likes
- Faculty is quite supportive and would help with regular checks on students. They are punctual as well and no teacher took a lot of leaves.
- There are lots of cultural societies in the college which are helpful for character development of a student
- College facilities have drastically improved. There are AC's, a proper common ground along with a table tennis court and Basketball court.
Dislikes
- Faculty was fairly new and didn't have much experience in teaching as the Law program was recently introduced in the college.
- Fees was increased after 1st year and even though the students protested, nothing happened.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course was quite comprehensive. All of the major laws were covered. Some of the teachers also had their PhD in the subject they were teaching itself. Still a few teachers who were teaching BA subjects seemed to me lacked knowledge and should increase their references. The exams were conducted mid semester and were in a proper way with half syllabus covered. The course can definitely do better with more practical knowledge as the moot court within the college was not as inviting as I have seen in other colleges.
Internships Opportunities
There were multiple law firms and lawyers who offer vacancies in the college and those are sent to us which we can apply to individually and it is done for every student. These were done by our placement cell and the teachers helped out in it as well. These recruiters very well know that we have applied from the college and many students go through these placements.
Placement Experience
College placement is provided and it is done for every student. The placement platform is set up students and alumni and there is a different Placement cell that does all that. It also provides with internships and the college is really good in that.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college fees in the first year was only around 80k but it changed in the second year to 1 lakh 2 thousands. College gave an explanation that there is no hike and it was the same fee but no students believed that. Scholarships were provided as per GGSIPU norms. Complete cost came around 5 lakh for 5 years course. There were some charges which were compulsory but were requirement for VIVAs. College provided me with an internship in Kavya Singh Law Chambers and there multiple other options for it as well.
Campus Life
Genesis happens as the Annual fest every year and there multiple societies doing multiple social fest throughout the year. The library is quite huge and there is a seperate library as well of the college which is for researchers. All basic facilities are provided in the college. There are 5 canteens in the college itself with AC and lift available. There are two auditoriums. Common stadium ground, Basket ball court, table tennis as well.
Admission
I gave CLAT in 2019 and got awarded MAIMS. First you have to fill the GGSIPU admission form and pay the fees for that. Then the admission would be on the basis of CLAT score. In IPU's website you will have to choose your college preferences. There were 3 rounds of counselling for college allotment. I had to change my preference so I skipped the first round and changed my preference. University never informed when the admission process starts so I had to visit the college to get to know the admission process. College informed me with the documents I had to submit and the University should have made that clear before hand which they didn't do.
Faculty
All of teachers or majority of them were PhD and have exceptional knowledge in their field. The teaching method of some teachers is really good, however some are straight of rude. My interaction with most teachers waa really good but there were still some who I would never want to meet again.
