Entrance Preview

Cotton College, now the university, is one of the best colleges in Assam. It was established in 1901, and it is a dream of almost every student of Assam to get into this college. The students of this college hold a very strong and positive position in socio-political of Assam.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

On the admission day itself, you can select the course you want to opt. And the course curriculum can be found on the college website. I think, the curriculum is suitable for the time period and also for the long run. It is not exaggerated, the course is very much reliable and matches with the national curriculum as well.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, it does provide the internship. But I don't have much information about that matter. The website of our college provides with every important information.

Placement Experience

4.5

There is both Science and Arts stream. Though Commerce section is yet to be found. The placements and job opportunities are quite well. In fact, all of them get into good jobs. Students from here are well settled and in different fields. The eminent poets and writers were from here.

College Events

5

Along with academics, our college is very forward with other activities as well. There is Freshers as a Wellcome ceremony for the newcomers. Then College Week, Function, Farewells, Teachers day, various Conference, the weekly conference as well, Press meets. Also, the important dates are celebrated. Also, a college election is one of the important things.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible. Admission fee for a year, which is like 3k-4k. And examination form fills up before every end semester, which is 1k-2k. It is affordable for I think everyone accepts for very poor people. There is also a provision of free admission, so poor students can also get through. That's all.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Maybe there is, but I am not aware of any such facility. Free admissions are provided to the unprivileged students.

Campus Life

3.5

The students of the college share a good bonding. I am not very sure about the gender ratio but it seems that girls are more than boys in the arts section and I am not very sure about the Science Section. Students are even selected for national level games. There is frequent debates competitions and quizzes.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

It is good. A room is shared by 4-5 Students. And there is both senior and junior in the same room. Though little improvement can be made in the mess food it is still okay. Other facilities like running water, security is very good. Work is in progress for betterment, but it is still good.

Alumni/Alumna

There is an alumni organization and it is very strong. Alumni meet often held. And very old seniors come to attend them.

Exam Structure

The examination system is basically semester system, which is it organizes finals after every six semesters. There are one mid-semester and an end semester. The teachers will provide with some portion of the syllabus for the mid-semester but for the end semester, all of the prescribed syllabus for the semester has to be seen.

Admission

After the 12th board result is out, the application form of the college need to be filled, it can be done offline as well as online. And according to your merit, they provide a merit list and if you are within it, then you will have to be present on the due date of admission. And it's done.

Faculty

5

The teachers are very friendly. They teach very nicely, and very cooperative. Also, they provide with every study material that you would be needing. There is a Head of the department (HOD ) in each department. There is a Vice Chancellor and a Registrar. And they are very cooperative as well.

Placement Experience:

The college is a local college, it has only minimum amount campus placements. But the faculties or the education system prepared students for getting higher placements in government sector or private jobs. Above 80% students from this college got placements. My plan after BA is to do masters in distance and starting business and also preparing for Bank exams.

Exams were indeed a difficult task as a student, we hardly had a week to prepare ourselves for the examination.

history is interlinked with all subjects. It describes the social formation, decision and mistakes that shapes the world. it gives moral values and mistakes that shouldn't be carried out again. The subject is very interesting and should be considered once.

Review on ADBU

3.6Helpful

Course Curriculum Overview:

About the course curriculum, I still wonder why they have to put science subjects on the course curriculum of arts students. They would say it's a basic course but it is definitely not. Those arts students came there to learn their main subjects. I think it is unnecessary to put sc subjects there plus it is not basic. Otherwise the main subjects' curriculum is pretty well organised and planned.

I choose this course because I like it.There is no any specific aspects regarding my subject. From class 12 onwards I like my subject economics and so I persude this course. The timing of our exams are ok . But according to difficulty level it is moderate. I don't think that there is any area that need to be improved regarding the course.
