Course Curriculum Overview
In the 4th semester they ensure that we undergo a course of our choice from any other stream. i chose biotechnology even though i was studying in finance. The curriculum really helped to prepare a mindset of which path i should follow inorder to land in a well paying job. They ensured that we are adequately explored about advanced courses and career choices after the course they offer. They used to conduct semester wise internal exams without fail before the university exams. one improvement i would suggest is to increase the gender ration among the faculty. they do not have no keep hiring female teachers just because its a women's only college.
Fees and Financial Aid
College fee is 36k Fee structure is based on the semester number, and the amount varies by the nature of the course. i. Apart from the course fee, there will be maintenance fees and occasional charges that we have to pay to the management and not the university, which provides the certificate. As i comes under OBS quota
Campus Life
Overall the campus environment and course were great and gave a lot of good memories. St. Joseph's taught me how good women friendships can be and its not always jealousy and backstabbing like the typical idea that everyone has. Its about the sisterhood and being together and not having impress or prove anyone. Such an environment will truly bring out the real & strong you outside, which i would say any woman should experience in her life at least once. The management fests, youth festivals, cultural days, Sports days, Annual days and number of other celiberations that comes along the 3 year long college life is something we cant replace from over lives that we can cherish for a life times. And ofcourse the class bunking and having chai and egg puffs from the shop in the corner. Moments which are priceless.
Admission
After the 12th i submitted the application online and i put st josephs as my first option and christ college as second. i got ibnto st josephs in the trial allotement itself and straightway joined into the college. Getting admission that too in self financing was not at all a difficulty as i had around 89%. But my friends who scored above 95% faced lot of struggle to get into the merit quota where the fee will be less. there also reservation plays a role. even a student with less than my mark got into merit seat just ecause she was in reservation. The reservation dramas will be there regardless of college. but getting an upperhand for the NRI students throughout the academic year in all ways just because they paid lakhs to join is a worst thing to have. especially the favouritsm of having no parents in town as guardian and having to stay at hostel.
Faculty
The existing faculty is very much experienced and well certified. And they do keep a good faculty to student ration in each academic intake. i felt the faculties are really friendly and approachable but strict when it comes to teaching. They do not compromise on the quality of academics.
