Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Well as a BTech first year, my chosen branch course is computer science. But in contrast to this, the subject given to us included whole BTech branches like mechincal, civil, electrical, and value education was also included. This was done to provide us with various information on other branches as knowledge about everything is good. Value education was provided to heal and correct the mental state of students. In my perspective the course should more focus on the main branch of students. The exam were taken at a moderate interval but for weak students the time provided is still somewhat lacking. But the level of exams of mid sem are not to high and end sem are difficult but time for preparation are also sufficient. In my opinion the time between exams and difficulty of exams are good and well planned as this much should be fulfilled by student to further grow and be prepared for outer world

Internships Opportunities

4

As a first-year student, I have yet to get the opportunity to visit companies for internship or get any internships from college but as discussed with senior college provide internship opportunities for students to enhance their experience. Projects are compulsory to make in the third year as per the college curriculum.

Placement Experience

4

As a first-year student, I have not got the opportunity to visit any companies and gain knowledge in real time However, as discussed by the senior the college provides good placement and internship opportunities The average fourth-year student is eligible for placement and has the most time to visit various companies and gain experience and knowledge about the workplace. The highest placement last year was around 40-45LPA Off-campus and average placement offered by campus is around 4-6 LPA. The percentage of students getting placement from campus is around 50-60%. Others are usually taken placement from off-campus or from personal connections. My plan after getting the degree is to achieve a good placement on campus. As placement from campus is preferred, off-campus placement is also an option if it has a good package.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of college are high as it is a private college so this much is expected. My branch is computer science in BTech and the fee is 165000. Other from this college also charges other fees like course registration, bus fees, etc. Sometimes the college is only money-minded and does not provide the necessary facilities as per the fees provided. As in some of the classes, the fan and light do not work properly and the temperature is high. Also, some washrooms are not maintained properly and sometimes the water cooler does not have cold water or no water at all. The only scholarship provided is from the government for castes like Oand BC, SC, and. College does not provide any other scholarship and does not provide any benefit for backward castes.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus only held one event in the whole year named moonstone or the annual function. Various other small functions are held by clubs to increase the proficiency of students and increase their knowledge and upgrade their perspective to a bigger level. Some club-held events are hackathons, etc. The library of our college is big and many books are available. The library is free of charge and any student can issue a book from here. There is a wide variety of study material available and also have a good range of friction books available. The classrooms of the first year have just a Blackboard but the upper classes have projectors and various labs with good equipment. The sports offered on our campus are cricket, volleyball, basketball, badminton, football, table tennis, carrom chess etc. Our College supports extracurricular activities as it gives students credits for extracurricular activities. Many student-run social groups are available like notes era, scholarly, etc.

Admission

The eligibility of course is based on the 12th mark percentage and JEE main marks. My branch eligibility was to have above 75% percentage in 12th or above 70% in JEE mains. There is a cell for admission. There first any student applying undergoes counseling then the application form is provided by the counselor and guided to the fees counter where your form is collected and advance fee payment is done and your information is taken. The admission date is notified via mail and the documents required are mentioned. On that respective date, document Verification takes place and fee payment is made and admission is successful There are no reservation benefits for me. Well, the timing of exams and intervals between exams are somewhat lacking as exams are frequently take place and not much time to prepare. The schedule can sometimes be lacking as they schedule end sem in the afternoon in month of May when the temperature is at its peak and the heat is unbearable.

Faculty

4

Most faculties are passionate about teaching and their teaching method are very illustrate and easy to understand. Anyone having doubt or difficulty about any topics can also visit faculty in their cabin to overcome their difficulty and move forward. The faculties are very easy to talk and provide important life lessons with teaching to shape us in better person. They also share various methods and ways to study based on their personal experience to improve learning efficiency. They can be strict sometimes but teaching are always top notch.

Placement at SKITM are decent and improving year by year . Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. Reputed companies like TCS,wipro , Infosys and some emerging firms visit the campus. The averages package is around 3-4 LPA ,while the higher goes upto 6-7 LPA in some cases . Around 60% students get placed , especially those who have good technical skills and communication skills. The college also provide basic training and guidance for placements, which helps students prepare for interview The college provide some support, but it is not enough for high - paying jobs, so students need to prepare on their own.

Placement Experience:

Placements in my college are very good in one sense but okayish in some other. Many companies visit the college but only some of them are good and if one loses opportunity in some top companies, then only low paying companies remain. Students become eligible for college placements after 6 semester. Some top companies visiting for placements include, Goldman Sachs, Databricks, Google, Zomato, Amazon, etc. All of the students in my branch have received their offers except one or two, who will receive it eventually. Highest package this year is 1.04Cr INR and average would fall around 30L INR. Percentage of students getting placed in my branch is around always 100%. My plans after a degree is to work in industry offered to me by my placements, but even if I don't get on campus placement, I would be seeking out off campus placements and I am positive, I'll be in good place.

Placement Experience:

From the 4th semester student can apply for internships and for placement student should be in 5th semester of his or her college life. There's very difficulties in getting placed by the company because few of the company comes to college and very fewer gets placed. So student must develop the skills on their own and apply for off campus selection. More than 8.5 cgpa for average package and more than 9 cgpa is required for a good company... I'm planning to give upsc exams after graduation
