- NIPER has an extraordinary campus, that provides perfect environment for studies. It is well equipped with all instruments and laboratory facilities. NIPER has student friendly and world class scientist as their professor.
- since it is an national institute we get an opportunity to make connection with all kind of people all over the India. NIPER also gives an equal importance to cocurricular and extra curricular activities. It also organizes conferences every year.
- NIPER conducts national and international conferences every year which gives an opportunity to gain knowledge about the current pharma affairs. It also provides an minimum of 6L packages jobs to the students per year.
Dislikes
- There is a language barrier for the south Indian students who don't know Hindi struggles a lot in NIPER.
- As a South Indian i faced an issue regarding languages and food in NIPER
- Weather condition in Mohali is really an major issue in both summer and winter.
Course Curriculum Overview
NIPER is an institute of national importance, that comes under the Department of Pharmaceuticals , ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers , Government of India, that influenced me to choose this course. NIPER curriculum prepares students very weel for real world applications. There is no suggestions for the areas for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching methods. The frequency and timing of exams along is good. It prepares the student for the upcoming projects they are going to work with.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Sanofi, DRL , LCN etc has taken students for intership with good stipend. NIPER offers intership for all the MBA students mostly and some pharmaceutics and analysis students only. For rest of the departments internship is not that much good.
Placement Experience
From third semester students are eligible for campus placements. Pharma companies like Sanofi, Dr. Reddy' s Laboratories, Novartis, Lupin, Sun Pharma, Eli Lilly etc. The highest package is 28 lakhs per annum and the average package per company is 6 lakhs. Almost 75% of the students get placed rest of them go for Phd's and business. My plan is to get placed in the upcoming campus placements
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fee in NIPER is affordable. For masters NIPER charges 1.05Lakhs in first semester and 53.5k for rest of the three semesters. The complete cost of my education is nearly 2.6Lakhs for 2 years. NIPER also provies an stipend of 12.4k per month. I suggest they can increase this stipend atleast to 15k because of cost of living in Mohali is too high.
Campus Life
NIPER celebrate all kind of festivals like Ganesh Chathurthi, Saraswathi pooja, Navaratri, Christmas day celebration etc. NIPER also conducts SPANDAN every year in the month feb and march which include both the sports and cultutal activities. NIPER has wide range of accessiblity of books and jounals. It also has smart classrooms and seminar halls. NIPER has gym facilities, volleyball court , cricket ground, tennis court and shuttle court.
Hostel Facilities
NIPER has hostel facilities for both men and women. For boys it has BEAS and CHENAB hostel, and for girls it has RAAVI hostel. SUTLEJ hostel with 2 blocks for boys and 3 blocks for girls and married hostel.The meal quality is Ok but not too good. The registeration process for hostel is very simple and afoordable.
Admission
One should clear their B Pharm course with 55% to apply for this course. NIPER open its application form in the month april every year. Its application fee is around 3.5k it may varies depending upon the course of application. Admission process is done through the computer based test. Based upon the merit score the seats are alloted. To apply for the NIPER individual should clear the GPAT(Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) conducted by the NTA once a year. The entrance exam is completely based upon the B Pharm syllabus.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is perfect in NIPER. As an first year student i have learned so many things from the world class staffs. The faculty's are world class scientist , their knowledge in their fields are really astonishing. Their behavior towards the students are really down to the earth. My guide Prof G.B. Jena is really an down to the earth kind of person. I have a huge respect on his achievements and his attitude positive towards the students is really amazing.
