Entrance Preview
I Love to study outside, rather than other states I prefer to study in a different district than my own. And I was so much attracted by the beauty of Wayanad.i have heard a lot about mary matha arts and science college from many students and experienced people and I preferred a college by government/aided.MMC was the best choice for me.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am studying in mary matha arts and science college for the course of BSc Computer Science.I am very much satisfied with the faculty of the college and all of the teachers and staff from the computer science department are friendly and they are very much knowledgeable in what they do.
Internships Opportunities
As I am a first-year student I am not very much aware of internships. I think that our college do internships for 3rd-year students.
Placement Experience
In our college, only the Computer Science Department has the facility for campus interviews. no other department has campus interviews. You know that BSc is not a priority for jobs now, they need higher education other than BSc. So in my opinion job opportunities by the campus interviews are very less. But I had heard a story of a student of MMC that got a very good job from the campus interview.
College Events
Mary Matha Arts and Science College celebrate majority of the events such as Onam, Christmas, etc. Because it is a Christian college they celebrate Christian devotional days more important than other colleges. Our college also celebrates arts and sports days. Majority of the students got participation in all of the events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
MMC is an Aided college affiliated to Kannur University. So daily the admit students through the Merit list and other students buy seats through management quotation. The fees are very cheap for those who belong to OEC and students with e-grand got very fewer fees. Overall the fee structure is feasible for all of the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
MMC gives scholarships to students those comes from lower casts and they got many scholarships for those who are good in academics.
Campus Life
The campus life is very much satisfying for me. College got many extracurricular activities and sports and art days are unforgettable. All of the labs of MMC are spacious and we can enjoy our lab experience in a different manner. The college provides equality for boys and girls, there is no gender inequality or other things. College gives equal freedom to everyone.
Hostel Facilities
MMC got two hostels and these are sponsored by UGC, but the drawbacks both of the hostels are for girls. There is no hostel for boys. This is a serious issue because, as the speaker am also affected by this.iam from a different district and I can't get to the college daily by going to my home.so I want to stay near the college. But there is no hostel for boys. Now I am staying in a private hostel for boys near the town. As speaking about the mess/canteen food, the quality is pretty much average and usually, I don't use eat from there.
Alumni/Alumna
All of the senior students are very helpful in academics and they are also very helpful in our needs. Seniors are like parents to us because they are the one who first helps us in our college-related problems like Bus ST problem and etc
Exam Structure
Mary Matha Arts Science College is an Aided College that affiliated to Kannur University. So the examinations are conducted by Kannur University and as other exams, it is very strict and convenient. All of the exam Nalla are under CCTV surveillance and malpractice is strictly restricted. All of the labs got a massive space capacity so the students can enjoy what they do. Labs are spacious and well maintained.
Admission
When the 12th exams are over, I applied for Kannur University for my higher education. I preferred bachelor's degree in science and I wished to get a seat for computer science in mary matha arts and science college. When Kannur university published their merit list I got a seat in MMC. I went to college and I got my admission from there.
Faculty
Mary matha arts and science college got the best computer science lab from all the colleges of Kannur University.MMC also has the PG department for computer science and our college is the only college that has the PG CS department with this much facility like more than 2 Computer labs. Faculty of all departments of MMC is quite satisfying.
