Course Curriculum Overview

5

So as we all know nursing is a profession which not only requires skill but also knowledge and empathy. Over the years the course has changed tremendously from annual exams to semester exams. The semester exam wise makes it easier for the students to complete all their requirements ie. assignments, procedure demonstrations etc. It also makes studying easier as your only studying 4-5 subjects per semester. The first semester consists of subjects like Nursing foundation,Anatomy, Physiology, Psychology,Sociology and a subsidiary subject like English. While the second semester has subjects like Applied Biochemistry, Nursing Foundation part-2, Applied Nutrition and a subsidiary subject Nursing Informatics. Following by 2nd year consists of subjects like Med surgical Nursing, microbiology, pathology and pharmacology. From this year onwards there won't be any subsidiary subjects. Overall the course is a bit overwhelming, but the results, outcomes and Opportunities are tremendous!!

Internships Opportunities

4.5

College does offer internship opportunities in the hospital itself with a good salary. Hostel stay is also provided for those needed. You'll have alot of tasks and patient input assigned. Youll be asked to look after 2-3 patients depending on the ward your assigned with.

Placement Experience

5

Well just by having a bachelors in Nursing is pretty much enough for you to get a well paid job everywhere. The college does offer placement for you so there's nothing to worry about. Especially after studying in this college any hospital will be ready to offer you a job. After atleast 2-3 years of experience you can also try to go abroad after writing the OET exam. Also the college does have a partnership with a university in UK, so if your able to manage your grades and complete all your requirements the college might reward you by sponsoring a scholarship to UK

Fees and Financial Aid

So the overall fee will come up to a round off of 800000. Which is very reasonable as all the other colleges have the same fee structure which is around 200000 per year. The fee does keep decreasing a bit every year accordingly. The college also provides good scholarships for all those in need. Ans also there's a scholarship meant for girl child as well. Overall the students can also apply for state scholarships such as NSP,SSP etc.

Campus Life

4.5

There are alot of clubs and associations especially a lot of research clubs. There are many fests as well such as ethnic day, Adrenaline and a lot of other cultural events also fashion shows dance competitions etc. Also nurses week is celebrated alot of intercollegiate competitions are held and alot of other events. Campus life is fun alot of canteens as well as alot of sports activities are held annual meet is held.

Admission

So I had applied online first on their on website-Fmcon.com. Later on I had to write the CET exam as it's now officially the entrance exam required to join the BSC nursing course in Karnataka. So through the counseling process of CET the seat will be allotted . You will be given a chance to suit either a Management seat or a government seat. The college will keep you updated by sending emails and posting more details over their website. Overall the admission process goes pretty smoothly . You just have to make sure you keep checking the actual college website repeatedly and your emails as well. The eligibility of the course is having passed out of science stream with physics chemistry and Biology having scored at least 50% and above. And also making sure to write the CET exam as it's the only entrance exam. Also the candidate should be 18 and above with no serious health issues as such. A medical checkup will be asked to be conducted to make sure the BBcandidate will be able to join.

Faculty

3.5

All the faculty members of the muller Ian community are very will educated and are professionals who have not only completed their masters along with PHD but also have very good work experience in top hospitals. They also have very well developed teaching skills so as to teach the students well and making sure everyone understands why this procedure is done and how is the procedure done. All the members are very much approachable from the principal to the hod to the deans and all the teachers. They'll always be ready to re explain a particular topic and re demonstrate certain procedures. They will also ask you for feedback after each class so as to improve their teaching skills. Overall the faculty is amazing!

Course Curriculum Overview:

Aspects that made me choose this course : The course has strong clinic focus. It gives early ward postings and lab skill training. The mix of theory and clinical work made me choos it. The course gives hands-on skill in wards and lab. We learn case study, care plan and drug chart. It also improves our critical thinking skills during intervention. Areas to improve : More skill lab time can be added. More demo with new tech will help. More group talk snd case based learn can imrpove study. There are 2 internal exams each sem and one final exam. Exams are fair and needed daily study. They are not very hard if we prepare well.

Placement Experience:

Placements in our college are available, but they are average and not very high level. The college conducts campus placement for our course, mainly in hospitals and related healthcare sectors. Many students get placed through college, but package is usually basic or entry-level. It is good for starting career and gaining experience.
