Remarks

The college management is excellent is some aspects but miserable in some others.

Entrance Preview

In the AIIMS counseling, it decided my order of preference as Bhopal, followed by Bhubaneswar and Jodhpur. But Bhopal was already filled before my turn came. So, now I was confused between Bhubaneswar and Jodhpur. Bhubaneswar had the advantage of proximity and good weather, so I opted for it.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum comprises of 19 subjects in a span of four and a half years plus one year of internship. In my opinion, the curriculum is quite extensive. It should have been lesser, taking into consideration the incessant stress prevalent among the medicos.

Internships Opportunities

Our college does provide the internship. The stipend is around Rs 18000 per month. Overall there is good experience during the internship.

Placement Experience

2.5

In our course, there is nothing called placement. After the course, most of the people go for PG entrance examination, which is again much tougher than its UG counterpart. 19 subjects were tested at a time itself sounds terrible. A good percentage of our students crack this exam.

College Events

4

There is a grand annual intercollege fest called CHIASMA organized in the college plus other small intracollege events throughout the year, which let the students relieve some of their academic stress and have some fun. These include cultural, literary, sports events etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is incredibly low. At the time of admission, we had to pay around Rs 5800 and that was all. Apart from that, we just need to pay around Rs 3000 per month for the mess. It won't be an exaggeration if I say that we are studying here for free.

Fees and Financial Aid

Some scholarships are there which I know of but unfortunately haven't availed. Some of my friends are availing it.

Campus Life

2.5

The campus life is average. The gender ratio in our course in around 60 boys for every 40 girls. There are a number of extracurricular events in the college in sports, cultural, literary fields. There is a basketball court, a cricket cum football ground, a gym, volleyball court etc.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel facilities like single room accommodation, good security, regular cleaning are quite good. As far as the mess is concerned, its just like for any other college. Sometimes the food is too delicious and other times, we almost go into tears while having it.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very helpful. Starting from marking the important questions in the books a day before exams to lending their helping hands in conducting the events, their help obliges us all.

Exam Structure

The entrance exams contain 200 objective type questions including MCQs and reason-assertion questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Knowledge and Aptitude & Logical Thinking. Each question carries 1 mark and there is negative marking as well.

Admission

First of all, I registered for the entrance exam, appeared in it, scored a good rank and attended the counseling. For admission, all of us had to submit our 10th and 12th mark sheets along with some other documents here in the institute. The admission fees were incredibly low, around Rs 5800 for the entire five and a half years.

Faculty

4

The college boasts of highly experienced and meticulous faculties who leave no stone unturned in incorporating the minute details of the subjects in our grey matter. Whether it is the drugs in pharmacology, genes in genetics or enzymes in biochemistry, they make everything easier for us to learn.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well organized by the authorities based on the latest medical aspect of our society. Practical classes and regular postings in hospital helps in better understanding. Being the only hospital in nearby cities, our hospital provides us a good exposure to varity of cases. Our Associate proff and HODs also look upto them and help us gain more real world experience. The best aspect of this field or if I have to say Why have I chose it is to serve the society. Absence of well qualified doc at the times of emergency is one of the leading causes of mortality in developing countried like India. Being in this profession, I just want to help people around me.
