Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course which I choose was an alternative instead of doing CA, as my course was integrated with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) which was a quite new professional course in the field. This course deals with International Accounting and Finance which covers almost all the ACCA subjects from taxation to audit and assurance. The BCom exams are quite challenging as it prepares us for ACCA papers.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are many companies which come in for internships and also give you offer letter for future. Companies like Goldman Sachs, ITC,etc. offer internships for 3 months with or without stipend and also may give you job offers. As college requires mandatory social and corporate internship for 1 month each for credits. It is necessary to do internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements in our college start from 5th sem which is in the 3rd year. Students with backlogs are not eligible for placements. Companies varying from EY, Morgan Stanley, Lowe's, Deloitte, Zomato, Deutsche Bank, etc. will come for campus recruitment. Highest package would be around 10-15 LPA based on the requirements of companies and job roles varying from analysts, service providers, auditing, accounting, operations, etc. Approximately 75% students get placed and others may study further, where I'm one who is planning to study MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is high for professional courses as they are integrated courses which will approximately cost you 1.5 L on a whole with ACCA subscription fee and extra fees on papers you attend every time you book for the same. The college provides you with 6 exemptions or maybe 9 now which is also beneficial. Scholarships are available through academic, management, sports quota. Placements are also very good and can expect 100% placement with an avg of 6 LPA.

Campus Life

5

Kalotsav which is an intra collegiate fest which happens in odd sem every year is when we get the opportunity to showcase our talents mainly focusing on culturals. This happens for 2-3 days in the month of October or November. Cipher being a business fest. Kalarava and Antharanga being Kannada fests. Annual sports day for sports and competitions. The library has various books and covers everything a student needs and also has e-library. There are many clubs and associations which are mandatory for 1st and 2nd years which includes NSS, Kannada Sangha, Hashmi Theatre Forum, AICUF,etc. which enhances a student's life in SJCC.

Admission

The admission process is quite normal as top colleges perform. Starting with application costing around 500 per course. All the details of application process will be available on the official college website. Reservations are available for Christians and backward castes. After application you will get a confirmation mail for entrance test if you have met the eligibility criteria. If you pass the entrance, it's followed by interview.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty in our college is very supportive and highly qualified with great experience in their respective fields. There are more than 100 lecturers and also external faculties to teach professional subjects. Teaching methods are very good including smart boards and e-materials. All the teachers are easily approachable.

The placement cell in my college is okay they do get few good companies for campus recruitment and they guide us thoroughly how and when we should apply for placement they do conduct some sessions and bring people to guide us with everything. The percentage of students getting placement is 50 or 60 percentage. My plan after degree is to continue pursuing acca and then finding a job abroad
