Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this Subject by my own without any influence. But still the course curriculum is quite good. Our curriculum is not that industry specific so you need more internship to gain industry level knowledge. The main improvement should be done in course subject and the staff members. They should hire teachers with atleast 1-2 year's experience not fresher for such a High levels course. Exams are quite good and ok as per our course.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 85000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

In my time the course fee was ?85000+?2000 exam fee. Total cost is around 8-9 lakhs. There are many scholarships for students such as defence scholarship, merit based or on the basis of national level test etc. I've not taken any campus placement because our college have a special division called DCPD for the placement for which you have to pay ?10000 and then you are allowed to sit for campus placement and if you don't pay the amount or don't choose DCPD you will not get any campus placement.

Campus Life

There are many tech fest in our college like hackathon etc. There are not that much books related to our course in library and are not easily available. Their is not much facilities in tech provision in classrooms. Their are very good opportunities in sports and extracurricular activities in campus.

Admission

Eligibility of this course is you should have scored minimum 60% in 10+2. The course information and the application form can be found on Universities offical site cuchd.in/admission/ . The frequency of exam are quite normal and the exam are quite difficult as the course difficulty. No suggestions for improvement in admission process.

Faculty

Some of the faculty members are quite good in teaching and very patient to make students understand. In my case the learning experience with maximum teachers were very good and quite understanding. The faculty has a good mentorship over the class and good effect on students and very good way of teaching. Students can intercept many times with teachers and the approachability is quite simple you go to teacher and ask the questions.

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Life at CGC Landran

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak.That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

I gave cucet but can't find the college that have cse in their colleges. That time my father was recently posted in chandigarh as chandigarh university was very close to me and the transport is also easy and I don't have to pay the hostel fees and I can be a day scholar also so I choosed this college as it provide a good network of peoples. The admission process was to simple ,I just applied for their entrance online exam cucet and booked a slot gave online test of 100 mcq from the selected domain and after that I got scholarship and to confirm my seat I have to pay 10000 part of my semester fees (that 10000 was from my semester fees) and after doing online formalities and upload document. I got a call that you can come to university and attend classes. The admission process of too simple so I never taught of choosing other college at that time....Read More

A Student's Perspective ( Chandigarh University ) in Review

I haven't applied for other colleges because i was convinced for the college only my some of the friends were already studying in this college they told me everything about is and i also researched so much about this college before admission. Also the number of companies visits for placement was large. Admission process was simple When you visit their website and you show interest for admission they gives you and personal counsellor Who tells you about the admission process sometime if you stuck in every step they do it for you. there are two processes 1 is 12th merit based which is a direct entry if you got above 90 percent in your 12th Standard and 2ND - CUCET Enterance exam which is compulsory for Non direct Admissions There is nothing like cutoff in this exam this is a selection based exam but you have to get more than 40% marks in this exam for scholarship....Read More
