Likes

There faculty how they teach student with providing proper practical and real life knowledge
Each course which teachers teaches also have lab of that course which help in getting the topics more widely and keenly
The interaction of senior with junior are very nice and helpful they always ready to help student in every situationships

Dislikes

Shillong climate changes very drastically, most of the time we faced raining and too much cold at the time of winter
Shillong traffic is also another reason for disliking that place
In NIT, Meghalaya still we don't shifted in our permanent campus

Course Curriculum Overview

The Civil engineering course is one of the finest course for persuing in terms of preparing for Government services in future like (IES, JE), its also provide placements in companies like Deloitte, LnT etc

Internships Opportunities

Our college provide summer interships for freshers or for outsider students, in this internships they provide wide and kin knowledge related to btech branches like(cse, ee, ece, ce, me). In future this courses help for getting jobs

Placement Experience

Generally companies come in NIT, meghalaya for hiring students and if you had a caliber you will definitely get good placements, we can also go through off campus placements, generally off campus placements are higher than on campus

Fees and Financial Aid

Generally in Nits institutional fees are fixed there is lot of fee paying policies in Nits like for Gen Ews we have to pay 1/3 fees and for Sc and St categories 100% tuition fee waive. In Nits generally fees don't increase rapidly because of central govt. Policies

Campus Life

My experience in college is very awesome from faculty to students all were very supportive and interactive you can easily share your problems with anyone and they are always in front of you to help you in very circumstances

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are very well maintained and cleaned, daily cleaners come for cleaning, rooms are well large space for easily accommodate 2 person, bathrooms and toilets are attached in balcony, geysers are provided

Hostel Fee: INR 24000 per year

Admission

Generally for getting in NIT, Meghalaya you have to clear JeeMains with good percentile, cutt Off list are according to Josa selection boards or through Csab round. If your percentile is above 94 then you easily get in it

Faculty

Faculties in NIT, Meghalaya are very supportive they always give there best to help students in understanding topics, very humble you can ask your any doubt at any time, provide series of questions that help in exam time

Placements of our college is average , The average package is almost 400000 per annum. I will prefer to take placements from outside campus by own. U may also go for further studies after the degree. My plans are too take placement from outside.

A Glimpse Into Life At NIT Meghalaya

Placement Experience:

In the 6th semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. There are many companies who want the 7th-semester student to sit in their placement process. The name of the companies are as follows: Infosys 4 offers L&T 5 offers Google 2 offers POWERGRID 2 offers Etc Approximately 71 % of students got placement in many companies. I will do farming after getting my degree.

Placement Experience:

Yes placement's are there because it's a NIT From 3rd semester you are eligibile to apply for internship and from 7 sem you are also eligible for campus placements Many companies visit our campus for the placements some famous names of coma pansies are adobe amazon flipkart Mahindra infosys tata black rock etc and the no of offers made differ each year but the average of offers remains 150plus Highest package of our college is 51 LPA Which is bagged by a cs girl this year from Amazon and the average package also differ by the branches but for mechanics and cs branch a the average package is as good as 10LPA Percentage of students greeting placed is very good for the mechanical and cs branch like 95% placements are there and for others branches also 70% placements is there So placements is not a big issue in this college ???? My plans are simple Mai have to maintains a good ointer to be eligible for campus placements and get a good job and settle in life

A Totally Honest Review for those hoping to get enrolled in NIT Meghalaya

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for the placements from the 7th semester. There are various national, international and PSU companies offering job opportunities with Microsoft, TATA, GOOGLE, Vedanta Limited, HCL, to name a few. Highest package offeres is 80LPA offered to a student from Computer Science department from Amazon Company with a whopping average package of 50-60LPA every year and 60% of overall students getting placed 20-25% opting out for further studies and the remaining not being placed. I plan on pursuing further studies and getting enrollment in research programs.

The campus of the university is overall average. We get packages around 10 LPA but mostly students opt for heigher studies as only 10 -20 percent of students successfully get placed My plans are for masters in technology after the degree . Placement Experience:

Due to recession the campus placements are not that good like earlier years. This year the Highest package was offered by Amazon to only one student of CSE department. The package was offered 43 lacs per annum. Rest of the students got a package of 12-15 lacs per annum. The average package was 6-8 lacs per annum. The overall percentage of placement was nearly 88 percent.

So as I tell this a government college particularly NIT so admission in this is done by giving a exam called JEE which is conducted by NTA twice in a year most commonly in January and April So after getting a good percentile in this JEE exam you are all ready for conselling done by JOSSA and CSAB Admission are done in these college according to your percentile and All India ranks The eligibility for this exam is you need to be 12 th pass with any recognised Baoard with 75% Cutoff for this exam you can find on inemternet as this a very popular exams given by 15Lac student every year and only 50thouasand student able to get seat So in counselling you have to fill colleges of tour choice and the counselling system allot you a college according to your performance in JEE exam I have fill some other nits like NIT GOA NIT JAIPUR NIT HAMIRPUR NIT NAGPUR but these are the college I didn't get because of my rank in jee exam All went that wrong is my preparation for the exam ????
