Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum was well designed and equipped with a scope for open learning and other creative methods too. The curriculum had included most of the teaching methods thay cater to small groups and help provide individualised attention such as assignments, project work, tutorial, etc. We were given interesting topics for assignments wherein we were supposed to observe our surroundings for a well stipulated time and write our analysis based on the same. It was totally different from copy paste method. The idea of teaching that this course and curriculum has provided us is far beyond the actual situation of education system in India. It is based on practical methods and allowed us to get insights into real life situations and how we can apply these teaching methods to our future classrooms

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees hike is a practice I'm personally not in favour of..it puts a burden on out station students as it becomes difficult for them to manage their living expenses as well as college tuition fees. Getting a seat in the hostel is another struggle for them. Amount if scholarships and financial aid is also not very widely known or discussed. Some students fail to get the benefit of it due to lack of information. The students who actually deserve it find it hard to approach the concerned authorities due to unavailablity of resources. As far as campus employment is concerned, I was a part of placement cell in first year and applied for various internships but none of them provided stipend. They hardly gave an LOR. Mostly it was just a certificate of participation

Campus Life

Tarang was the biggest annual festival in the college. Aprt from that there was noor, diwali festival held annually. Thwre was wide variety of books available in the library and help was also provided to find the journals and other books using computerised method. A sports fest was also held annually that allowed participation from various other colleges as well. Almost all the sports were given importance such as badminton, volleyball, cricket, shooting, lawn tennis, judo etc. Student run federation was also quite popular such as student federation of india, AISA DU. For easily access to books and journals JSTOR access was provided to students. It had almost all the journals published. In the classroom smart class access was also provided for better access of presentations.

Admission

Eligibility- You have to appear for an entrance and the admission is solely based on your score. Application forms with be available at nta website. Nowadays they are considering cuet ug for all the entrances. Earlier the case was different. Application fees was nominal (250 or something) sicnce it was four years back it was quite less than what it is today. It happens once in a year and it is conducted online. The time duration is 2 hours. More gap can be provided to wnsure ensure smooth flow of admission process such as 5-6 days and volunteers should be allotted that could guide the stufents better during the admission process. These volunteers can provide an insight into the college faculty, infrastructure, course structure and other specificities.

Faculty

4.5

I'm under qualified to answer that but the faculty that I got was commendable. I'm more than grateful to share the same space with such well qualified and knowledgeable teachers. They provided us with a safe space to approach them for any inconvenience and always guided us like our fellow mates. One thing I liked the most in our discussions was that the teachers never limited us to the syllabus. They encouraged us to find our own meanings and create our own learning. They provided us with the material but never followed the spoon feeding method. They used those methods that they would expect us to use in our future classrooms which were mostly learner centric. Wven tho the faculty to student ratio was 1:55. They never made us feel underconfident or clueless, always devoted specified time to give individual attention and address our concerns even though it meant making tutorials mandatory. One of my personal favourite method was brainstorming which ensured maximum participation in the c

Course Curriculum Overview:

Joined the course on my own interest. It gives you more or less bookish knowledge only. The theory taught to you is too much idealistic and cannot be applied always (professors themselves agree on this) For practical knowledge more field trip, hands on experience should be given, frequent visits to NGOs can be one thing that can be added.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Teaching was always my passion ...I loved teaching kids...I was taking tuitions at home already and I kind of enjoy it so I thought why not make this my profession. Therefore I joined this B.Ed course. In Amity institute of education, Delhi there were 8 teachers on 100 students. Our batch was the first batch of 2 years B Ed course. In our class there were only 6 boys and rest were girls out of total 100 students. Teachers were very well qualified. They all have a huge experience and they were all subject experts. They were all brilliant in their own field. The exams were very timely. Lots of preparation was required to clear those exams...
