Course Curriculum Overview

The college comes under APJ Abdul Kalam technological University and the MBA course is under CUSAT.The 2019 scheme of KTU is a little outdated and doesn't offer a scope to improve a budding professional's skills

Internships Opportunities

We didn't recieve any internship opportunities,but some students are working as intern as startups in the college.Startups are promoted using technological business incubation unit in the college.Many students are doing projects there

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for merit students is 41030 for an academic year .The college also provides placement training and campus recruitment is conducted every year.There are also NRI and management Hostel and college bus facilities are also provided

Campus Life

The college has a central library with all sorts of technical books ,but the collection of fictional and general books are less.There are various clubs in the campus to improve one's skills.IEDC and IEEE are among the prominent clubs

Admission

The admission is mostly through KEAM but merit seat is also provided on the basis of JEE main score also.There are also NRI and management seats.The cut off is low in my opinion.You just have to pass the entrance examination

Faculty

Most of the teachers and well versed in technical background and experienced,but there are a few with little to no skill in teaching.Most teachers of my department doesn't maintain good student -teacher relations

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

From 6th semester onwards students are eligible for internship and placement opportunities. Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

CSE student at JEC

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course curriculum is lakhs relevance to modern industry demands. while it covers the basics there is minimum focus on practical skills emerging technologies and real world applications overall, the courses not comprehensive enough.

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA
