Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose this course because I know technology is advancing really fast and we should catch up with it to make the world a Greta place. And there are also wide range of opportunities for jobs and careers. The curriculum really provides a scope for further educational opportunities or job opportunities and also promoting us to build our skills. But the faculty members should improve how they present the topics to teach us and make it interesting and less boring than it is. They should include using other methods such as presentation , real life examples and create curiosity among students. The timing of exams are good during University exams but in colleges , the timings are sometimes ridiculous like 2 exams at the same time can be really hard for students to finish learning their portions .

Internships Opportunities

3.5

I'm a sophomore, I have never did any internships under a company. But I did an internship on full stack web development by an external organisation and also studied database management system provided by Oracle. Hackathon events are conducted in our college. I was the leader of our hackathon group. But we never qualified. But we'll try as always.

Placement Experience

3.5

From 6th semester, the students become eligible for campus placements in my knowledge. There were lot of company providing placements and with great packages. Some companies are Infosys , Sutherland , Wipro , TCS , IBM etc. I think the highest package might be 20 lpa and lowest is 5 lpa . In the year of 2022 , the Vidya Academy got record students getting placed in different companies. My plans are actually acquiring a job offer from a great company and an undeniable salary package and by attaining experience, I would achieve my goals and building up my startup.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees are not that high and are not that low. Well , I'm on a scholarship so I'm actually learning the topics for free as I have gotten great marks in school and also in 1st and 2nd semester. 1 lakh per year is a great scheme. There are lots of scholarships provided via the government as well as our college itself. I got full fees merit scholarship but there are partial fees merit scholarship and also scholarships provided to those students whose parents are working in this college.

Campus Life

4

In a year , there will be college day . There is arts day and techfest. There will be association day. They also celebrate onam celebration and Christmas celebration. There are days in which the college conducts sports meet. The libraries do contain wide range books educational as well as fictional and magazines on variety of topics. There are clubs and groups such as media center , association group and other groups as well.

Admission

I took JEE as well as KEAM entrance exams. I passed in all these exams. I didn't get good rank in JEE because I didn't go to any kind of coaching centres. But in KEAM exam , I secured a rank of 11002 but I didn't got to any coaching centres as mentioned before. Then when the allotment came , my first option was GEC Thrissur , second was Vidya Academy. I got GEC for mechanical engineering but I lacked interest in it so I chose Vidya and pursued Computer Science in it. The entrance exams were really hard to crack. But I only learnt only two chapters in mathematics for my KEAM exam and I cracked it . The admission took me like 3-4 hours because there were lot of students for admission.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty members are quite good. Some of the members are professors and some are assistant professors. They also provide us great insight into the topics they teach us and also give us in-depth knowledge. Most of the members are highly skilled and has a great amount of knowledge and some even has PhDs in great subjects. They are great mentors and also support us and guide us through our journey. We can approach them at any time without any hesitation.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is very active. You can get internships starting 2nd year and placements starting 3rd year. About 75% of people get placed. Many MNCs like Texas Instruments are consistent hirers. The highest package of 2025 for my course is 1 crpa. The average is about 7 lpa. A student can get 5,6 offers. I plan on higher studies abroad because I want to learn more in-depth about the course.

Apart from ISRO many campanies like Texas Instruments, UTS, Mercedez , also come here for recruuitment. Many also opt for M.tech and MBA after graduation

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

I only have postive thoughts about that campus. The campus helped me to remove my pre-occupations, inhibitions, fear etc. It gave a lot of memorable moments, large number of friends.
