What Students Say
Likes
- The first thing that I really like about my college is it's location it is located in Noida sec 62 which a hub of IT companies which really helps students to see corporate and IT culture from really close at an early age.
- Also the duplex library of the college is very nice it's very spacious and has plenty of of resources.
- The placement rate of my college is really good companies like STMicroelectronics, Morgan Stanley, Amazon and many other big companies visit our college to provide us with internship as well as job opprtunities
Dislikes
- Firstly my college doesn't have a sports field thus it becomes really tough get past boredom.
- College uniform is also something I don't really like much as I feel that i college students should have the liberty to wear whatever they want.
Course Curriculum Overview
Considering the present growth of the semiconductor industry, ECE engineering is one of the best courses. Also, our teachers guide us with all the available career opportunities in the ECE and VLSI field, even our subjects help us in this matter. However, I still feel there should be more focus on practical studies rather than just memorizing theory and giving exams even Labs fail to emphasize the practicality of the course, I think this is somewhere the college should focus. Exams are held thrice in a semester along with Labs exams which are twice a semester and it becomes quite hectic to give exams so frequently.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Google, Amazon, STMicroelectronics, Morgan Stanley offer internships to students in my college, for electronics related internship stipend varies from 10-30k per month and job roles are a along and digital engineers and project interns, etc.
Placement Experience
Students can sit in campus placements by the end of 3rd year. Usually, job opportunities at this time include 6 / 12 months internship and then PPO. The employment rate is quite well I guess it's more than 60% which is higher than most colleges in my category and placements at my branch have already started improving this year. Even if you are unable to crack placement by the end of 4 years offshore placement rate is quite well. As far as I am concerned I plan to sit in placements in the upcoming semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
The net tution fee for four years for a Pune who has taken admission in 2021 is nearly 11 lakhs whereas now it is close to 15 or 16 lakhs. For any hostler, the hostel fee is 1-1.25 lakhs per semester including mess charges which are compulsively inclusive. As such there are no on-campus employment opportunities or any financial aid for anyone pursuing an undergrad course.
Campus Life
I think campus life during the first year is quite good but is somewhat boring after that especially if you are not a part of a hub or society. Dance and singing societies as well as the technical hubs are quite active and events by students of these hubs are conducted year-round. The college doesn't have a proper playground but does have a badminton and basketball court and swimming pool. All the classes include ACs and projectors along with whiteboards. During the whole year, there is only one cultural fest namely Impressions for two days.
Admission
I got into the college through my board results as I had been awarded 94.8% in my 12th board. Application forms were present on the official website but one thing that was really inefficient was that for entrance through boards and jee I had to fill two separate forms whereas other colleges allow only form to be filled. There are no reservation benefits in this college. I think the admission process is efficient but the branch upgrade process should be quicker rest assured all is good.
Faculty
All the faculty members are really highly qualified, there are many IIT retired professors in our college and many teachers who have completed their PhDs in IITs. Usually, one teacher teaches two classes of 30 students each at a time. Also, most of the teachers are really supportive and are easy to approach in case of doubts and even if one needs mentoring regarding a career. The teaching approach is not very different, it is similar to other colleges focus is kept more on theoretical rather than practical studies.
Other Applied Colleges
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology - [Thapar University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)
I joined jaypee and not thapar because firstly I live in Delhi and jaypee is very near to my home secondly I know a lot of alumni from jaypee and less from thapar although reviews of both the colleges were by far the same.
