Course Curriculum Overview :
Curriculum followed is good. More practical kind of questions asked in examination like situation based. Therefore, it prepares well for industry entry for freshers. Most of the marks are assigned based on presentations both individual and group. Trimester system is followed and each year has 3 examination s each in a gap of 3 months. First two semesters general subjects are taught. In the third semester onwards, specialization has to be choosen. One can either opt for dual or major/minor specializations. Analytics, Marketing,Finance, HR and Operations are available specializations.
Internships Opportunities :
Coca cola, BNY MELLON, BAJAJ ALLIANCE, LEGRAND, CHOLA SECURITIES are the companies brought by college for internship. Other students have to do the internship by finding out companies by themselves. BNY offered internship in Finance while others offered internships in Marketing. I'm doing my internship at Happiest Minds Technologies which I have found myself.
Placement Experience :
From 4th semester, students become eligible for placements ie; at the beginning of second year itself . Students are eligible with a CGPA of 7 for most of the companies visiting Amrita School of Business, Kochi. Most of the banks like Federal Bank, South Indian Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI BANK etc comes for placement. Also PWC, Deloitte, BNY Mellon etc comes for placement. Many marketing companies like World of Stones, Exide batteries etc will come for placements. Good companies are more coming for placements. Avg package is 6 lakhs and highest is 14 lakhs. Almost 98% gets placed from college.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fee Structure is one should pay nearly 3 lakhs in July when classes starts then pay 2 lakhs in the same year at December. Next year also same procedure is followed. Complete cost of education adds up to nearly 11lakhs because uniforms and other charges has to be paid in addition to specified fees of 10lakhs. Scholarships are given for top scores in AMCAT exam as well as for MAT and CAT score toppers. Up to 30% scholarships are recieved.
Campus Life :
There are many committees like Omkara for conducting festivals and other functions, Niyukti for training students for placements, Asthra for conducting business fest, a committee for charitable activities also. Sports are conducted but limited basis only. Campus is not big to enjoy. All kinds of festivals are conducted beautifully.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel facility is safe and has freedom till 9 pm for ladies. Food is vegetarian in hostel mess and non veg food can be ordered from outside to hostel. Hostel has wifi facility. Hot and cold drinking water. Water heater. Common bathrooms for students staying at one side of the floor. Hostel food is adjustable
Admission :
Admission process is that first we have to fill the application form via Amrita official portal and pay nearly 1500 rs as application fees. At the same time, we are registering for AMCAT exam while filling the application, no extra exam fee. If the candidate have written other exams and have good scores for like CAT, MAT, NMAT ,CMAT, XAT etc then only candidates will be shortlisted. After that a Personal interview is conducted where we have to make presentation on a topic given earlier. AMCAT is conducted once or twice as per the interest of Amrita School of Business.
Faculty :
The student faculty ratio is not adequate but everyone can learn using smartclass facilities and have microphones and speakers. Most of the faculties have atleast 5 years of industry exposure. Teachers are approachable and maintains professionalism and should be formal while interacting with them.
Interview Experience :
For the admission process, I have prepared questions related to general events happened recently by reading newspaper. Most questions were asked about recent events like Ukraine war, Union budget and some subject related questions from ug. Other than this, self introduction was asked. And a presentation was made based on a topic given previously. Admission process has two rounds, first shortlisting based on academic background , secondly, based on personal interview
