Course Curriculum Overview

5

Santosh being a medical college , it comes under NMC and NMC decides the course of every medical college in india , every college has to follow that . Santosh does exactly that and provides us with best possible labs to work in and follow our curriculum. Medical courses have pre clinical and clinical years so for that santosh provides us training to work with them in our pre clinical years and we have best teaching faculty for that . For clinical years santosh has it's own teaching hospital and their doctors teach us and make us practice in their respective departments according to our curriculum .

Internships Opportunities

5

In medical course every college has to provide their students with internship in their own hospital or the hospital to which they are tied to. Santosh college owns a hospital named santosh hospital so students after completing their final year that is 4th year enter into internship year and practice for one full year in their hospital under difficult departments . Internship schedule is pre decided by the state medical council for every student so college has no say in that area . For one to pass their internship year they need to complete certain days in every department of their course only after every department appoval they can pass their internship year . Santosh hospital is 30+ experienced it is very renowned in ghaziabad ,UP so alot of new and advance come in the students way to learn from and practice on which is a great plus for student to work up their skills

Placement Experience

1.5

In any medical college there is almost zero placement after hust graduation. One has to apply in post graduation to get a decent pay job and get proper skills to work with . But still if one feels like doing job after graduation they can apply to hospital and get a job . This can be done only after graduation that is when one gets their license to practice . My plan after graduation is to give NEET PG exam to enter into PG course and work up on my skills .

Fees and Financial Aid

Santosh university being a private medical college has higher fees than regular non professional colleges in india. Medical colleges have to spend alot on daily basis for their hospitals to run and for their students to practice that's why the fees is little higher compared to any other course. Course fee of bds is 2.5 Lac/ year which is very reasonable for a medical course. Santosh university does provide scholarships to gold medalist students with financial difficulty . In this 2.5 lac / yr tuition fee is also included but not examination fee of every year and instruments students need to purchase. After 4 years , internship year comes and college gives stipend to every student doing internship there , stipend is 5k/ month.

Campus Life

4

Medical colleges don't provide with great extra curricular activities all over the india not just santosh . Since it's a very tough course colleges tend to focus more on academic side rather than extras which is quite understandable. Our college provides us with library open till 10pm at night and has smart library tools which includes Tablets devices installed with pre owned tuitions apps for students . This is one of the best effort made by santosh group . Every classroom has AC and has projectors from which students learn . Santosh owns hospital and the college so campus is quite large . Santosh college has clubs for students to take part in extra curricular activities, clubs like social media , core committee, dance , art , cultural etc .. taking part in extra curricular activities after such hectic and difficult course is a great relief for students .

Admission

For admission in any medical course student need to give NEET EXAM , after giving NEET exam there comes a cutoff list and in whichever college student can meet cut off he /she can apply for admission by online portal and visiting there . Reservation cut off is usually lower then general cut off . Neet exam is a competitive exam with utmost difficult selection rate of less then 0.1% , 20lac + students give exam every year but the seats are less then 1lac including private and government making it very difficult to get in any medical college . Because of this very reason doing medical course in india is of great respect and importance . Neet exam is of 3 hours 20 mins in which student has to perform 200 questions with negative marking of -1 and positive marking of +4 , this adds to the level of difficulty of this already very difficult exam . Course of this exam is 11th and 12th class PCB based .

Faculty

4

Santosh university has some of the best doctors graduated from the best universities in our country be it MAMC OR AIIMS . Santosh university not only provides us with best teachers but it also provides us with best labs in which our faculty and our seniors teach us our practicals . Interaction with the faculty is on daily basis since we get to attend practical classes with them daily . Apart from our teaching faculy we have mentor faculty as well who keeps eye on every student they have under them , their role is to push their students to their best limits in academic and in skills . Mentors are there to help students in every aspect of their college life , personal life , i think this is great effort done by the college to ensure every student's mental well being and academic well being

Course Curriculum Overview:

As this course provide the tag I wanted , that's why I took this course . And bds itself provide specialization in teeth Like if we do MDS we would be a master in this field. For improvement I would suggest that they should use more flowcharts to teach . The frequency of exams is perfect, and I have heard that the difficulty level is increasing now.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course over MBBS , I LIKE THIS BETTER , you're a specialised doctor just after graduating, you're ready for the outside world, to earn money , better career options . About exams, nothing is too difficult if you study properly. Its normal difficulty if you study its easy ,if you don't study its gonna be hard. Notes system should be removed . More tests should take place like fortnightly test . Dissection is a must.

Placement Experience:

Dentistry is not a semester based placement programme. After BDS, students can be employed in the private dental clinic of ITS itself, or they can secure jobs from big hospital names like Fortis, Clove Dental Clinics, Max and Apollo. • The average package of students per month has been 3 lakh rupees. My plans after the degree are to get a campus placement, and practise for some time. During this time i would be earning good money and focusing on my NEET MDS preparation at the same time.
