What Students Say?
Likes
- The Air conditioning is all around the classrooms and is pretty good for the summers in Bangalore as we don't feel the blazing heat.
Dislikes
- Feels like a prison, the security and non teaching staff don't treat the students right.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is a pretty good course as the one I'm taking right now is partnered with IBM and the IBM members come and take up classes for us almost on a daily basis and we get a good certification and placement from IBM. The particular course I took is good especially because of the different career path I can take. The IBM members also conduct multiple competitions which include poster presentation and other similar competitions. The winners of the competitions get a good certification directly from IBM.
Internships Opportunities
We have internship programs with MNC's like TCS and IBM. We will not be given any stipend in particular but we'll get a roll of a data science intern or an AI specialist intern. We will be given projects while working under them to show if we are capable of being a full time worker there and if we satisfy the higher ups we will be invited to work with them.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course is obviously on the more expensive side, but it includes a lot of opportunities for students who want to make use of these opportunities. Not a lot of colleges have certifications from IBM, Microsoft and other similar MNC's. The complete cost of a 3 year degree in Yenepoya wud be 5,25,000. The students who scored more than 90% in their PUC or +2 is given a 20% scholarship from the college.
Campus Life
The campus is nothing great it's just two floors from a IT building. We just have 5 hours of college everyday which doesn't make it very college like it feels more like a small job and there's too many students so the corrdors are usually always busy and the cafeteria is always as busy as it gets. Not a lot of programmes but we have a sports week. We also have other interbatch competitions which include football, cricket, basketball.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is not in the campus and we are provided with transport daily to go and come back from college. The hostel is situated about 5km from the college. The hostel is pretty expensive as I am paying 1,75,000 per year just for a two sharing room. The hostel is situated near Kristu Jayanti college. The meal quality isn't that great but is getting better day by day.
Admission
The eligibility of any course in Yenepoya is 40% in your PUC boards or +2. The students who get below this is not eligible and cannot join this college. There's no entrance exams or anything if you are eligible to join the college you get in without any interview or examination. The application fees is 1000 and to book a seat it is 20000 which will be cut off from your first sem fees.
Faculty
Very less faculties but the faculties are highly qualified and are very kind to the students. Most of the faculties being experienced faculties. The faculties help us in all our needs and requirements from ragging of students to helping us out in the class. The teachers also interact with the students. The mentors take responsibility in all projects and competitions between different batches.
