What Students Say
Likes
- There are so many clubs in the college. You can improve your social skills by interacting with new people and contributing in club activities. You won't get bored at college as something or the other is always happening in the clubs.
- There are reading rooms present in the college. They technically not libraries but places to sit and study. You can sit there whole day within the college timings to study. It is very helpful for people who don't have study table at their hostel.
Dislikes
- The area of college is not much developed. Its kind of down area. But for the opportunities this college provides its okay I guess.
- Another drawback is that, there is not much encouragement in sports activities. In few semesters it is just for marks. There is one ground and some indoor games are present in the sports room. I really wish the college focuses on encouraging students
- The canteen and cafeteria, which are under college are not that good. I go behind the college to have my lunch where actually good messes are present. But i feel that the canteen and cafeteria are overpriced.
Course Curriculum Overview
I feel our curriculum is up-to-date. Useful topics are taught to us which are important in the industry. The main focus is on practical knowledge rather than theorotical knowledge. The curriculum prepares the students for real-world applications, it also supports students who want to pursue post-graduation like MS abroad. There are special cells for that. Other than that its good and updated. I think the teachers should be more innovative while teaching, showing animations etc. especially for subjects like Linear Algebra, Calculus and physics. It helps students to grasp concepts easily. Other than that everything is okay. There are 2 exams conducted throughout the whole semester in-sem and end-sem. In-sem is after 1-1.5 month after start of college and end-sem is about 1.5-2 months after in-sem. After in-sem there is period of submission where you have to submit all your projects/assignments. There are also CIEs (continuos evaluation exams) after each unit, these contribute to CGPA
Internships Opportunities
I have provided the details in the previous section please check those as the content is same. Talking about project you can collaboratively work with your friends and faculties to work on projects if they are available.
Placement Experience
I don't know much about placement, but they are good. The average package is 7-8LPA according to college website. Students become eligible from 3rd year starting for campus placement and interships. Around 200-250 companies visited the college. Highest package is 44LPA offered by Amazon SDE. I am planning to get a placement after completing the degree. I have plans for post graduation but i have not researched about it yet.Percentage of students placed is 85%. There are also recruiters like NVdia, Accenture, Amazon etc. There are internship opportunities in 3rd year. You have to be in touch with HODs and senior faculties. You should be actively intersted in learning new things and also Reasearch Paper or Patent if possible. If you keep yourself skilled and consistent the college will ofcourse support you as it is a part of its culture. This is the best thing about the college. Other than that you get to work on industry level projects if you get a chance to do so.
Fees and Financial Aid
The open fees are 184000, there is scholarship according to Caste, whose table you can find on college website. Financial assistance is provided by MahaDBT govt platform. Students can also apply for private scholarships like reliance, tata etc. There is no fee hike the fee is same for 4 years. The complete cost of education is around 7.5L for the Open category. This is only tution fees, hostel and food charges are excluded.Other than this you have to buy books, stationery, manuals everything by yourself. There is college hostel but I don't know much about it as I live in a private PG. Mostly students stay in Flats/private hostels due to their affordability. I have currently not taken any campus employment or internship, but our college has opportunities if you be in touch with the HODs. You have to be skilled enough to be eligible for interviews and internships. For experience you can join clubs work there and build a good leadership profile.
Campus Life
I would say campus life is good. Not bad Not great , but good. It is mainly due to the area of the collge is present in. The overall area is under-developed and the college is also built in a small space. But its okay because the college has good placement and internship oppotunities. Also you won't get bored at college because something or other is always happening like events, hackathons, seminars of different clubs etc. There is very little sports in the college. In few semesters its for marks where they take the activities and leave. No one plays sports consistently, but yes our college teams go to play inter-college championships and all. The best thing about the college is that there are numerous clubs which helps the students socialize with groups and make new connections. Talking about the technological provisions in the classroom, there is just a normal projector to show the PPTs of the topics.
Admission
I got the admission through spot round. It is also known as institutional level round. For this you have to fill a form which is released on the college's website. There is a fee for this round. After filling the form, the college releases a list of all the registered members on their websites, rankwise accoriding to their JEE and MHT-CET scores. For my year the application fees were 2000 rupees. Eligibility of admission is 45% in Board exams and cutoff percentile in JEE/MHTCET You have to be present in the college on the spot round day. Then they call you rankwise into a decision making room where you are shown the leftover seats after CAP round. There you can choose if you want a seat or leave. The rule for spot round is that you have to pay fees for open category irrestpective of your caste. No extra fees are asked like management and all. The exam difficulty level is medium. If you start studying a day before you can crack the exam easily.
Faculty
All the faculties are highly qualified, everyone atleast has a masters degree in their respective field and PHDs too. The faculties to student ratio is 1-60 generally. But we are divided into batch of 20 members in each class for better mentorship in practical sessions and labs. The faculties use the normal teaching methods to teach, normal old school methods. They show the PPT via projector and explain the concepts. The notes are provided after each unit. They are always available for doubt solving or any guidance. I interact with faculties not much frequently. But whenever I do they are approchable easily and solve my doubts. There is no problem faced by any student in this matter.
Other Applied Colleges
AISSMS Institute of Information Technology | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Engineering)
I got admission in VIIT via spot round. VIIT was better than AISSMS so I went for spot round and got admission.
