Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is the only thing which is good here. The curriculum here is updated every semester, especially for GST and Income tax. And also the credits allowed for the subjects are done in a good and justified manner. Exam structures are somewhat good. The funniest part is that most of the questions which appear during exams are from the notes which are given by the faculties. Even the calculation question which came for our end sem exams are the same question which was given by the faculties as notes. So here it is very easy to get marks for the exam if you mug up all the things which are given as notes.

Placement Experience

0.5

There is a little placement facility available here. There is a CIR department but it is of no use. All the companies which come are noncore companies like IT, Education field etc. The packages offered are also very bad. The highest package ever offered for a BCom student is 2.20 lakh per annum. So my recommendation is that if you are coming here looking for placements then you have come to the wrong place. No no no. No internships nothing. This college does not provide any internship or any programs which will help to increase understanding of workplace. If we want to do any internships then we will have to do it ourselves and spend money from our pocket. These are some of the most negative aspects of this college.

College Events

0.5

There are no such big events celebrated at this college. The management of these celebrations is the worst. The ethnic day celebration is only there for a maximum of 2hrs after that classes are conducted. And another thing is that one time the talents day of college was just announced during our class hours and the funniest part is that college authorities told us that and I quote" if anyone is having talent please participate" that was the announcement. I think these are some of the rare things that happen in any of the regular colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are no loan facilities provided by the college since the fees are low. If anyone wants to take loans they have to do it themselves. And about the scholarships, it is provided to those students who have good grades in their 12th standard and also to the students who are the devotees of Mata Amritanandamayi or any of the student's parents who are doing any service or working in any of the Mata Amritanandamayi s institutions.

Campus Life

1

There are no extracurricular activities provided. And this institution does not promote any sports activities. I am telling this because one of my friend who is very active in sports went for playing football for the university team. But during his practice, he lost a lot of attendance. So most of our faculty didn't even give him On duty leave ie OD. Due to this, he had convinced a lot to get attendance for writing the exam.

Hostel Facilities

1

The hostel infrastructure is worst. The toilets here are not at all maintained well. Vebdilations in the rooms are also very bad. And sometimes fans in my room will not work and will have to wait for at least a week for getting it repaired. Due to all these issues most of my friends have changed hostel and have taken rooms outside the campus like PG ROOMS etc.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors here where so helpful and the first thing most of them asked was why I joined this college and also told that I could have joined much better colleges in my native. Most of our seniors used to tell us that it was a very bad decision to join this college especially non-Karnataka students.

Admission

Best different types of courses and great outcomes of the course the faculty for the different type of courses are very experienced having researcher degrees and highly educated high Quality of education in this University. Faculty

2

Here the faculties are the worst but not all. They still treat us like school kids and also if we are not in their good book it will affect all our internal marks. They will be only liberal to those students who are quiet and doesn't question them. We have no right to tell our opinions openly to them. What they decided is the last and the final decision nothing else will be considered. Only male faculties act much more mature than the female faculties.

The placement cell in my college is okay they do get few good companies for campus recruitment and they guide us thoroughly how and when we should apply for placement they do conduct some sessions and bring people to guide us with everything. The percentage of students getting placement is 50 or 60 percentage. My plan after degree is to continue pursuing acca and then finding a job abroad

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
