The city connection is not very good and there are localities which are very bad in behaviour for iit students

Course Curriculum Overview

Some courses like which are having no credit but then also we have to do that courses are very bad like in our 3 Rd semester there is course which is hs200 in which they study sustainable development we don't want that type of courses but we have to study

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 130000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

There is waivers in fees of the college and there is availability of scholarship also The fees waiver you.will get if you are SC St or PWD students then you don't have to pay tution fees and only hostel mess fees willbe given which is around 30000

Campus Life

Yes campus life is very good the IIT Guwahati campus is famous for its greenery and infrastructure which is has provided there are 2 3 lakes around which duck are there you can sit and enjoy spend time peacefully

Hostel Facilities

I am currently in lohit hostel so for first year students there is attached washroom and for further there are common washroom which cas be used hostel is good but the mess food is like hell you have to make you taste v

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

Admission

The admission process was very much friendly the hostel are alloted before we come here and there is team of students guiding the freshers at every road and at every corner so there is not pretty much problem

The faculty is top class educated they have done there doctorate from overseas but some prof mat like to study and some may not The professor is friendly if you are having any issues you can reach them

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to participate for Internship placements from 3rd year and FTE offer from 4th year starting. Overall the placements scenarios are pretty good considering it to be a NIT. The overall highest package goes to around 80 lac plus and the average package lies around 18 to 20 lac for CSE Department. The opportunities are great with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia coming for on campus opportunities providing agreat experience

Placement starts from 7th sem . Many companies visited our campus for placement..Top IT Companies that visited our campus is Samsung, Nvidia, Oracle , SAP Lab , Cisco etc Psu also visited for placement... Which includes BPCL, OIL India Limited,EIL, MECON, BEL, HPCL.. etc .. Top core company also visited here ... Which includes vedanta , jsw , Tata Power, Honda etc . Highest package is 82 lpa which is given by atlassian. Average is 6 lpa I am working in infratech company

Let's have a look what is going on inside NIT Silchar

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart,aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle,ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Not good at all placements. Worst placement college that is ever been. They couldn't get companies coming to this college after such long times. The only companies which comes gives packeges as low as 200000 per annum. which is worst in these present times.

Detailed and Unbiased Review

I have applied for DTU & IIITD where I got Software Engineering Branch through the JEE Mains Scores. But since I was sure to join old IIT. I was not sure much about branches so, I just filled all the core and circuital branches of all Old IITs. I wasn't able get other top IITs as my rank in JEE Advanced was not that level.
