A Place to study and enjoy

Good is that it is one of the best colleges in Kerala. Bad thing, Hostel and too many holidays(that is there for all colleges in Kerala).

I opted for this college because it is having a BCom course specialized with computer application which only a few colleges in Kerala are having. Also, it is situated in Lakkidi region of Wayanad district which is best for its nature and atmosphere. The fees for the course is less compared to other colleges even in management quota.

I have taken a B.com degree which is specialized under Computer Application. It is a three year Course. This degree comprises of 6 Semesters and 30 subjects in total. The first semester and the second area having the first language which is English which is divided into two and the second language comprises two choosable subjects - either Malayalam or Hindi. I have currently chosen Malayalam. They are the core subjects like business, economics, accountancy etc. In our fifth and sixth semester, we are having a specialized subject. There are two specializations for B.com in our college currently - Finance and Computer Application Respectively.

No, our college does not provide Internships. But there are a lot of companies which are providing internships in Kerala and in India which can be applied through online portals.

To my knowledge, there are no placements for Degree courses like BBA, BCOM and all. But there are placements and job opportunities for the Hotel Management courses. There are many companies which are providing Freshers jobs in Kerala and India which can be applied through online portals.

There are many events celebrated in our college. There is a union day, one program, Christmas program, arts day and many more. There are also events that are held by various departments in our college. There is a sports day also in our college. These all programs bring joy and happiness in everyone.

There are two categories of students. Merit and Management. In merit, there is only 89000rs and in management, there is 141000rs to be to be paid which includes semester fees, college tuition fees, and other fees respectively.

No, the college does not offer any scholarships but encourages students to apply for outside scholarships offered by the organization or the government. As for the loan, the college helps with the paperwork of banks that offers loans.

Campus life is awesome. Situated on top of the hill, it is cold for most of its time. It has more boys than girls. There are many competitions. There are many labs such as photography lab, sound mixing studio, computer lab etc.

As I am staying outside the college in a PG, I don't know much about this. But as I have heard from my friends that the college hostel is worst. Good food is only provided at the first. Most of the students move to PGs from the hostel after the first year because of this.

The alumni network is strong in our college. The main thing to mention is our seniors. They are the best. They are there for us always.

The exam structure is that it comprises of six semesters and 30 subjects. Each subject has internals and externals marks. Internal marks consist of 20 marks which include assignments, class tests and attendance respectively. External comprises of 80 marks which is a written exam.

As this college is affiliated to Calicut University, so the application to most of its colleges are through CAP(Common Admission Process) which is an online application for most of its colleges. After that, there is an allotment procedure through which we can get into the colleges we have selected only if our names are there in the allotment list. Then we can proceed to the college which we have selected.

The faculty of Commerce is at its best. No words to say. Our HOD is the coolest person I have ever seen. He helps us in each and everything and gives us the positive energy to do anything. Also the teachers. Although not that experienced, they are also to the best.
