I was a commerce student in 11th and 12th standard. This I was pretty sure that I want to do B. Com as I was very good in accounting. G. M. University help us to be prepare for the real world out side the college by teaching us in classroom as well as practically. And the university conducts examinations time to time with a mild difficulty level so that every student can learn and give the exam at their best.

4

There are many internships provided to us in the companies including tata birla group, hindalco, aditya birla etc for which we have to give an interview. We get an average stipend of RS.15, 000 per month where we get to learn many things also

Placement Experience

2.5

From 5th semester students become eligible for placements. Less amount of companies visits our campus like tata birla, Hindalco etc. Maximum students prefer to go for further studies therefore placement rate is very low

Fees and Financial Aid

As G. M. University is a government driven university, it has a very minimum fees for all the courses as compared to other colleges nearby. And irrespective of that, it provides decent placements. It also has various scholarships for students.

Hostels are very good having tiled floor, clean washrooms and double storied. There are 3 hostels for boys and rest for girls. The meals are also good to eat which included non veg in the weekend also. It is very affordable having a fees of ?10,000 per year. There are many PGs also near the college for both boys and girls.

Admission

Good teaching way, includes OSOU, , college in city to no any problem, admission process is as per merit and reservation for SC/ST/OBC/ Handicapped students, General ones are stupid, website- www .gmuniversity.or.in

Faculty

5

The faculty members are very cooperative and have a very good behavior towards students. We get plenty of time to interact with them and get the things done in which we are stuck. All the faculty members are highly qualified with many faculties having PhD degrees in their respective fields.

Interview Experience

5

There is no group discussion, interview or any written test required to get admission in B. Com in G. M. University. Anyone who want to apply for it can submit their 12th marksheet with application form and fees in the admission office and wait for the shorlisting.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum of B.Com under Sambalpur University covers important subjects like Accounting, Business Law, Economics, Management and Taxation which are essential for future studies and careers in finance or commerce. The structure is simple to follow and helps students build a good base in theory. Semester exams are conducted on time and the difficulty level is moderate. A student who consistently studies can score well without extreme pressure. However, there is a lack of practical exposure such as industry visits, internships or real-world business case studies. Also, subjects related to modern digital business trends like data analytics, advanced Excel, and GST practicals should be included to make students more job-ready. Overall, the curriculum is relevant but needs more updates to match the current professional requirements

Placement Experience:

In our college, final-year students are eligile for campus placements. While i don't recall the specific companies that visited, one of my friends interviewed with Axis Bank and got selected with a package of around 2.4 lakh. The exact percentage of students are placed and details of average or highest packages are unclear to me, but the placements process provides opportunities of those actively seeking jobs. After completing my degree, I plan to pursue an independent career rather that seeking a traditioinal job placement.
