Remarks
The college management isn't good. Whatever events are organized, the entire work is done by the students. There are only a few people from the management who genuinely help.
Entrance Preview
I had a senior from my school studying in JIIT, Noida and he told me that the college is good. He explained to me the selection criteria and the various courses offered there. All this looked fair to me and thus I selected JIIT, Noida for my graduation course.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is modified in every 5 years. The course is well defined for the CSE students but sometimes is a bit twisty for the ECE students as the faculty of CSE also intervenes in that. Overall, everything is kept in mind and the management does its best to keep a good flow of the courses.
Internships Opportunities
No. The college doesn't provide any internship or training opportunities on its own. The internship is necessary but the students are required to find one on their own.
Placement Experience
Placement is good. For the CSE department, placement is really good and even if you are a little below average student, you will get placed. But the problem is posed for the students of other branches (E.C.E, Biotech) who have to struggle quite a bit to get placed.
College Events
JIIT celebrates a lot of events and that is what I found the best thing here. There are various pubs which cater for your different talents. Whether it is singing, dancing, theatre, debating, painting, modelling, sports or anything else, you can find like-minded people for everything.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is a bit expensive. Tuition fees for each semester were 55,000 when I joined. But it is above 75,000 now. Besides, there is a development fee for every year which would be something around 70,000-80,000 by now. Hostel fees are also increased every year and are 60,000 per semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
No. I haven't heard of any scholarship or loan facility offered by my college. In such senses, students are completely on their own.
Campus Life
Campus life of JIIT, Noida, especially sector-62 is worth experiencing. I haven't forgotten it till date. There are ample opportunities for sports, robotics, debates, dancing, singing, theatre performances, etc. If you like something new, you can create your own hub. The gender ratio is very large. The number of girls is way less than the number of boys.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is really good. There is a good maintenance team which is always there to help. The cleaning is also done regularly. Rooms are large enough and designed to make good friends. There is a gym, swimming pool, snooker table and many other facilities. The mess food is not up to the mark.
Alumni/Alumna
The college administration doesn't involve in any such thing. So the only alumni network is the one you make on your own.
Exam Structure
There are 3 exams every semester, namely T1, T2 and T3. While T1 and T2 are for 20 marks each, T3 is for 35 marks. This adds up to 75. The remaining 25 are internal including attendance, assignments and day-to-day performance, which are reserved with the faculty.
Admission
I got admission in JIIT, Noida on the basis of my IIT-JEE (Mains) ranking. My AIR was 109220. After filling an online application form for a minimal cost, I was shortlisted and called for counselling. On the day of the counselling, students' names were called out in the order of their ranking. Students were given admission to their respective branches on the basis of availability.
Faculty
The faculty assessment varies from teacher to teacher. There are only a few teachers in each department who are really enthusiastic about teaching students and care for their needs. Otherwise, most of the teachers just care for doing their job with some who don't even want to do that.
