Course Curriculum Overview
I was influenced by the detailed academic curriculum of the college which focuses on both ttheoritical & practrical aspects. Though the curriculum does not much help in real world applications as there are many other courses different from my branch but they are also necessary as an engineer should know basics of all fields. Some improvemnets can be made by reducing a bit pressure & load on the students as it is not getting too much hectic. Classes can be reduced a bit and syllabus could be revised to make it just of relevant & necessary things. The exams are held two time a semester - mid term examination (MTE) and end term examination (ETE). Dfficulty levels vary from subject to subject, usually MTEs are comparitively easier than ETEs but there can be exceptions. The faculty members are also mostly supportive but some are a bit rude & cranky which is the case in almost all of the engineering colleges.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides internship to 2nd & 3rd year students and placements to 3rd & 4th year students. Several big companies like amazon, oracle etc visit the campus for these roles. Stipends vary from sector to sector, mostly rnging from 30000 to 70000 per month. Mostly companies of IT & Core ECE fields visit the campus. Sevral projects based on AI-CS, ECE, some mecanical mixed with electrical & electronics and other projects are done.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is standard and subsidized. The tution fees including all maintanance charges * service fees is 1.25 lakhs for a general category student. The fees usually does not increase but some increases may happen but in a small amount of 3-5 thousands. About 60-65 % scholarship is available for EWS category students with family income level of below 1 lakh and OBC category students with family income level below eight lakh. There is zero fee for SC and ST students. No scholarship is available on basis of academic performance but you can apply for scholarhips in some governement schemes. I have not taken any employment under the college right now.
Campus Life
The campus life is overall good and there are several activites available. There are two college fest every year - technical fest "SPHINX" held in november and cultural fest "Blitzslag" held in feburary which are well oriented , entertining & experienceful though need some better management. The libarary provides several books & journals covering academic and some other fields too like art & culture, drama etc. The classrooms are fitted with centralised ACs & fans for cooling and smart projectors for better explanation of topics. Drinking water & bathroom facilities are also provided. Sports facilities provides are great, most of the sport grounds for games like cricket, basketball, football, hockey, gym, volleyball, and some other grounds are available with proper equipements of the games, The social groups & clubs are also very well managed and shape the social skills nof the students very well. Clubs for tech, cutural clubs for dance, singing, photography, singing and many others.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are mostly good but the qualities vary from hostel to hostel. The infrastucture quality of H-14 is really good while for hostels like H-7 it needs some renovation. Just like it, food quality also varies from hostel to hostel. Mess food is good for H-7 and okayish plus quite bad at times for H-14. The hostels are also equiped with some normal sport grounds like badmintion and common room with TV & indoor games like table tennis, carrom, ludo, vhess etc. The rooms are equiped with all basic ammenities, i.e. bed, table - chair, cupboard, tubelight & fan and a window. The registration process is easy and can be done from the college website. The afforddability is also good, the hostel fee is 32000 a semester for all students.
Admission
The admission process is standard. You have to be JEE Mains qualified for being eligible for the admission. Application is available through JOSAA or Joint Seat Allocation Authority. Application fees and dates are available on the website of the college and on jossa also. No reservation was availed by me. The JEE exam was held two times, i.e. there were two attempts last year - one in January from 24 jan to 1 feb and one in april from 6 april to 15 april. The difiiculty level of JEE is moderate - physics on the easier side, chemistry on easy to moderate and maths on moderate tough to tough. The admission process needs better website management as the NTA and JOSAA websites are a bity laggy & glitchy. Apart from that the college website also needs to be improved and they need to peoperly clear the requirement of documents needed for the admission as it is vert time taking & unclear at moments.
