- Faculty is below average as they are captains not teachers
- Timings are very terrible as we come at 9 am and go back 5pm you cannot focus that much
- Rest hours are not nice as you have to follow a strict navy schedule
Course Curriculum Overview
This Course get you a job of TME in a merchant vessel (ship)the job is very challenging and fun at the same time and yes this institute helps you aptly for the challenges you will face as a TME in a Ship the areas of improvement will be improved faculty and better lecture timings, as of exams there are 3 in every semester 1st in half sem it's of 20 marks easy 2nd 1 month after it 20 marks similar and 3rd in external of 60 marks and moderate difficulty
Internships Opportunities
No internship in ganpat University for marine because our field has cadetship on board ship only that too after course completion after placement as a learning sailor for your role of deck or engine cadet
Placement Experience
From 4th semester you are eligible for campus placement Companies that have visited are MTM ship management Scorpio ship management MSC Marlo shipping Whelhemson ship management Tapti waterways Average package is 600 USD a month stipend About 70% placement I will get a placement from here and sail for ranks and will get promoted till captain and then start my own business
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fees will not change after you admissions so there is no increase policy it will cost me 102000 INR including everything hostel fees mess fees training and extra courses In campus placement in not available as you are trained to be a sailor but after you complete a few ranks you can join as a instructor will a salary of 1lac to 3lac depending on the position As of scholarships or financial aid non for males but female cadets can get a major fees wave off from Gujarat government
Campus Life
There are many technical fest all year long every months names change every year Library is amazing for marine department as our books are very expensive and they have got it all All the classes are fitted with a/c and have projector and computers As of sport we have a Olympic size swimming pool,gym, tennis court, football ground, cricket ground,squash, pool There is a club for everyone run by students
Hostel Facilities
Room is nice properly maintained well lit for studies and rooms have a/c and balcony every hostel has a very well maintained garden Meals of marine Department are prescribed by the government so it well balanced and very nutritious but taste becomes mundane as you eat similar things daily chicken 2 times a week Marine hostel fees is included in the fees You are not allowed to live in local rent or pg as marine engineering course is strictly residential course hence living away from your family is the part of the training and you will do the same onboard ship
Admission
Eligibility Criteria includes 60% and above in PCM in 12th and Have cleared IMU-CET. Application form available on their website Reservation benifits not available but girls get a fees compansation from Gujarat government. IMU-CET happens once a year and difficulty is average. In the admission process initiation is very unpleasant as it seems not legit
