Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

First of all I choose this course because of my parents. But when I started it I started to enjoy it.The curriculum is so good.In the beginning itself we are informed about the entire field and curriculum of the course. It teaches us Economics with specifically with mathematics and that's why called it 'Analytical Economics'.The department association conduct various programmes and sessions to enhance the field of study. The teaching methods is so good with the well teachers. The exams are of good conduct and also the seriousness of the questions. It's little bit of difficult but very much to be get passed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fees for a semester that is of the period 6 months ( 2 semesters in a year ) is Rupees 22000 for the first year. The course fees was 10000.The additional fees of 12000 was the fees for the additional study of civile service class for the entire year.It was taken during the weekend Saturdays. But that perspective study was not good and the students itself stopped it for the 2nd and 3rd year. There is some scholarships where the students are getting .I don't much about it.There is no other financial aid for the students. There is a compulsory internship programme for the students of some department in the 4th sem which we want to find and join by ourselves. There is no campus employment and job roles. There are responsibilities given to the students through NSS,NCC,IEDC,Women's club and all those extended activities including sports.

Campus Life

2

Focusing on the social aspects,it's not good. The college is very strict sometimes goes beyond it that we can't sit over the free time in campus .And with very much sad I can say that there is no interest for the college to conduct a fest. After a long period there conducted 'IVANO Fest' which was one of the greatest fest of trivandrum , but never gets it habitual colour this time. The college union is very much interested in conducting the fests other than the college management. The library is so good and updated with the course related reference books and look back question papers. The classrooms and other facilities are very much good for the self finance block but I can say the facilities for the regular block is so poor especially with the sanitary facilities. The sports field of the college is very much professional and enthusiastic that the college have many teams for the sports. There are many students run social groups and clubs like NCC,NSS,IEDC which makes students empowerment.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel which I was chooses is Bethany Hostel which is not the college hostel. There are college hostels for the students. My hostel was so good and is so near to the college. The rooms were singles and doubles. The rooms were so good with table and lights and fan and very much useful of the plugpoint. The hostel meal was so average with its fluctuation in the tastes. The menu can be altered by us.The registration was so easy .The fees was so moderate of rupees 6500 for double and 7000 for single room. The hostel management was so poor (Bethany Navajeevan Ashram),where the don't even consider the student'ss protest for the needs;rather they took it in a way of protest. There are very much facilities for PG and other rent houses in the college premises (Nalanchira)

Admission

I have collected all details about the admission from mainly through the college website (MIC.in) and also from the SFI helpdesk. The course which I have taken was a self finance course : Analytical Economics. It's a valued and a fresh course which have only a 3 years of starting. It teach very systematically the core Economics with the subjective use of mathematics. The exams are conducted as per the scheduled time The exams are of good and also little bit difficult. The admission process is good.

The curriculum offers a solid theoratical base, which influenced my decision to choose this course. While it helps with further, its lacks real world exposure and updated content. Exams are held each semester and are moderately difficult beacuse of this, so practical training and teaching methods need improvement.

I chose this course as because I like English Literature. The student ratio that my class own is about 48 students in total. Majority of the teachers who are posted there are those who have qualified with NET (NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST). The current HOD is one of the retired Assistant Professor from one of the renowned college around Kozhikode town. Internal exam were timely, but coming to University exams it was so restless. But as if now, it is getting into the track again by conducting exams on time.

Exams are extremely challenging and if we have covered minimum portions we can easily go through them. And any malpractices like attempts are not allowed and would get punished for. I chose for my own interest and have enough fun throughout the time period.
