Andhra University College of Engineering for Women - [AUCEW], B.Tech, Computer Science And Systems Engineering
Reviewed on Nov 5, 2018

Remarks

If one wants to join over here who requires their study to be completed with a minimal fee and are okay with a women's college, it's a good place. But for the ones who get compromised over fee issues and wants to study in a co-educated college, this isn't the right place.

Entrance Preview

I basically used to live in kakinda, AP. So I actually dreamt of getting an admission int JNTUK. My rank was sufficient only to get a petrochemical stream seat. But, my passion was for computer science. So, my option for AUCEW was basically chosen because I've already been in Vizag for 10 years and hence it being my favorite city and it being my favorite stream, I had to choose AUCEW.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Well, the entire course was good enough to develop knowledge regarding all the theories of computer science. One disadvantage is that the elective subjects aren't selected by the students. It is selected by the AU lecturers and that is followed by AUCEW too.

Internships Opportunities

My college doesn't provide any kind of internship. The institutions providing courses or internships would approach students and ask them to join telling all the details. Now and then, our college conducts workshops that are really educative. But it depends on the HOD to take such steps.

Placement Experience

4

Compared to the last year students, we've got a lot of companies and almost 2/3rd of our class students are placed. MNCs like infosys have come which give a decent 3.6lpa and also some core companies with a 5-7 lpa have also come though not more than 5 students were selected for them.

College Events

2.5

Our college celebrates teachers day, christmas, dussehra, womens day etc. The main events are the departmental fests which are organized by students of all their respective branches. The fests really enlighten the college and a festive mood is set. Those students that involve in the fests have all their energy pumped up with the organization of several events such as paper presentations, social media promotions, technological presentations, flash mob performances etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure has changed this year to a little expensive. It was really feasible when we have joined in the college. Maybe that's because most of the colleges have increased their fee structure this year. It was 35000/- at our time, but this year it changed to 63000/-.

Fees and Financial Aid

According to the castes and the financial status, there are many scholarship programmes. I don't think there is any loan facility provided by the college. I've been paying my fees every year, so I don't much about the scholarships and stuff.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life for me was boring sometimes and good the other times(when it's the time for fests). The gender ratio is 1:0, 1 representing females. Many girls who feel to be okay with a women's college can happily join here without a second thought. But the ones who want to study in a co-educated college, don't turn your minds over here. Extracurricular activities depend on you and your friends cause there'll be no one forcing you to play games or go to the library. Competitions come up once or twice in a year for events like womens day or so.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel wasn't ready when we got into the college. It has come into function this year and was pretty good to live in. Except for the common bathrooms, one can easily cope up with the rooms and the food. As I haven't been there, I don't know much about it.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni mostly is involved in the students discipline but they care a very little about their problems. The senior students we knew are helpful ones. There's no network sort of thing with them. It's up to an individual to maintain good relationship with their seniors.

Exam Structure

It is simple. The every year semester pattern goes like this "The final year students complete their exams in Nov 1st week(1st sem) (2nd sem April) , the next week followed by the 3rd yr students, next 2nd and, next the 1st". The internal exam is of 30 marks which consists of 2 mid exams of which an average would be taken. The semester exams are for 70 marks.

Admission

Yes, I've got an admission in this Institute. I went to college for the 3rd counselling of eamcet. The process was quite simple. I had to submit my original certificates and pay my fees for the first year. Had to write a letter for my admission and that's it.

Faculty

3

I will give a rating of 7/10 for the faculty in my college. 1 out of 5 people teach in an excellent way. The rest are like they just go through the topic that needs to be told for the next class. Any doubts asked, most of their reply would be that they'll clear it in the next class.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was relevant and covered all the important subjects, whichh was one of the main reasons I choose this course. it prepared me well for real-world applications, and the basics taught in class were helpful for further studies and job needs. Some area like addinf more practical work, updated tools, and industry-based training could improve the teaching quality. The exams were held regularly each semester, and the difficulty level was moderate, so students could pass easily with proper preparation.

Faculties want to teach us in a understanding way and make us to do gain more practical knowledge Some Improvements want to do in our course , because it mainly focuses on only theoretical part but not on practical part.. so for better understanding of theoretical subject we university want to improve curriculum of our course Computer science and engineering mainly focuses on developing or creating something by using different new technologies. It also connects with the daily use of things in our real world like ATM nd ecommerce etc
