The course curriculum is comprehensive with MBA related subjects like Corporate Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Digital marketing, International Trade & Operations, International Financial Management, Operations & Supply Chain Management, etc. The trade distinctiveness provides knwledge on International trade with port-visit opportunities across Indian and overseas port. IIFT also provides Foreign Exchange Program wherein it has tie-up with 20+ institutes across the globe; majorly in countries of European Union that helps the students to gain International exposure. The curriculum is rigorous with subjects like Economic Theory that provide vast business insights and macro-economic trends in International Business that affect the decisions of any corporate or business organisation. The exams are held thrice a year as it is a trimester based system that incorporates 6 semesters across 2 years of the MBA program. The teaching pedagogy is case based with focus on group presentations, quiz.

Summer Internship opportunities are provided for 2 months duration. These internships also provide opportunities for PPO. The roles are diverse like Finance, Marketing, Operations, Trade, etc. The stipends range at median of 2.0 to 2.5 lakhs for 2 months.

IIFT has a record of 100% campus placements till date. The placements are offered across vast domains like Finance, Marketing, Operations, Trade, Supply Chain, etc. roles. Numerous companies like Godrej, Goldman Sachs, J.P Morgan Chase & C., Coca-Cola, Bank of America, Bayer, Wipro, Deloitte, E&Y, Adani, Tata Steel, Haleon, ICICI Bank, YES Bank, Synergy Consulting, McKinsey & Co., BCG, Russell Reynolds, etc visit the campus for summer placements and final placements. Companies also offer PPO opportunities.

The fee for 2023-25 batch stands at 20.97 lakhs and can vary for the upcoming batches. The cost of education can be undertaken by availing student-friendly loans from different banks. Scholarships include National Scholarship for Post-graduate studies provided by the Government of India. The scholarship amounts to 1.5 lakhs per year subject to renewal based on merit list and reservations. Campus employment includes paid summer internship opportunities with reputed organisations. Stipends awarded are as lucrative as 4.5 lakhs for 2 months.

IIFT admission consist of Aptitude test. After clearing the aptitude test, GD/PI shortlist is released for all the eligible candidates. The cut-off varies every year depending on composite score calculation that is based on previous scores of class 10th, 12th, and aptitide exam. Different weightages are assigned for this initial shortlisiting. After GD/PI rounds, final shortlist for admission into the programme is released by the institute with waitlist for Delhi & Kolkata campuses.IIFT earlier had its own aptitude exam until 2022. Recently, from 2023, IIFT has decided to take scores of CAT exam into consideration. The CAT exam is held once a year during last sunday of November. Eligibility for course is a student needs to be in his/her last year of 3 or 3+ years of full-time graduation in any field or completed.
