Life at IIIT Sri City

The curriculum we follow is off IIIT HYDERABAD. Subjects which are not related to computers or electronics such as physics, chemistry etc are not available. It focuses on thr course we take. There are 5 subjects each sem and 5 different teachers along with assistants for each section. The faculty is well trained and got PhD in top IIT's, NIT's and few from out of India. The syllabus is divided into 3 parts and we have 3 exams per sem with no unit repeating which makes it easier. Grading is relatively so each student gets decent marks. The number of assignments can be reduced and slides which are displayed in the class can be provided next day it self.

Amazon visits the university every year for intern recruitment. They provide a internship with 100000 as there salary. With my information, I reckon the internship duration is 3 months. Many other companies also follow the same process.

From 7th semester, students are eligible for campus selections. Many well known companies vist such as amazon, Motorq etc. Highest was 1.2 cr while the average is 20.3 lakhs. 80% of the students are getting placed in well known companies with good salaries. My plan after getting degree is to pursue for masters in computers abroad also try to get a decent salary in campus selection.

The fee structure is around 400000 per year. Total 16 to 17 lakhs for 4 years. 80000 for mess and hostel for a year. There are many loans which are available from states like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana. University also provides loan through SBI bank. As I am still in 1st year, I am trying what all I can do in this university, there are many to participate.

This university has a lively environment. It feels good when your around the campus though the pressures will be there. There is one annual fest knows as abhisarga which,it is mostly held in the month of March. There are many tech fest infact they just keep on going. Library provides limited yet informative books and journals. Online would be better. Classrooms are equipped with excellent tech, it has 2 screens 2 white boards. There are many clubs such as photography club, dance club, music club, and many more which compete with other universities around. There is a cricket ground with 2 nets for practice and a football ground. Basket ball and volleyball is ground is also available with badminton ground in construction.

Hostel life is new for any one. This university provides a decent hostel for the students. The hostel we are staying was opened the day before we joined so it was brand new. 3 people on one room, 1 bed, a study table, chair are provided by them each. There are 3 sockets for each. A cupboard for your stuff. Good ventilated rooms, a 24x7 working lift. The menu of the mess does look good but I would say the mess quality is not so great, it's average. We have to pay 80000 for hostel and mess fee before joining along with the course fee. They will provide you with a room.

Jee mains exam is considered for the admission. I have joined through DASA which is direct addmission for students abroad. There is certain rank for each university and the course we select. All the details regarding JEE MAINS for DASA can be found on these website. There is less competition for DASA. The exam is online mode, 3 hours. We have to be in the center provided and its based on MCQ format. Difficulty level of JEE MAINS is hard.
