The campus is really beautiful and green spread across 750 acres
The freedom given to everyone is nice and sports culture is good
The professor are supportive and encouraging

Dislikes

The location in terms of connectivity to guwahati city as well as traveling from other cities
The placement culture is fucked up and more than your skills your connection matters

Course Curriculum Overview

There was practical training in labs, we had several industrial visits, and we can accept more advanced tools in the process. There are midsem endsems and 2 quizses . Although their teaching were good but career opportunities in this field are limited.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 2026 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Per semester fee along with hostel accommodation is around 1,30,000, the hikes are not very frequent and regulated. Teadidly available loan can be taken and student with lesser annual income can avail scholarship. Btech generally don't involve in campus employment.

Campus Life

There are 3 major fest in our college , cultural fest alcheringa in feb , technomangement fest techniche in sept , entrepreneurship summit udgam in January. Our college has best library and accessibility. The class room are well equipped and modern . Sport activities are compulsory for everyone. There areany technical and cult club that improve over all personality and skills of a person.

Admission

For eligibility, I took jee exam. The application, date, and form were found on the josaa website. I didn't avail of any reservation. There were 2 main exams and one jee advanced difficulty was moderate to high. Jee mains exam result calculation in the percentile system can be improved a lot.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Digboi college and my experience through it .

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

Remarks:

I choosed because my CEE marks which was 92 at that time was not enough to get admission in govt engineering colleges and the OBC cut off was 120+. So, in Whole northeast Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology is the no 1 and the oldest private engineering college and I decided to take admission there.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Distance is the only issue.

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
