Likes

The academics are given great importance and everything goes as per the plan
Extracurricular activities are also given equal importance
The campus is huge, vast and has good infrastructure and host good facilities

Dislikes

The year back system is unnecessary and can be avoided
The security personnel often interferes unnecessarily in various matters
The crowd in the hospitals could be controlled better

-Importance is given to both theoretical and practical aspects -Excellent exposure to clinical settings is provided -The year back system however may be changed -Internal assessments are conducted regularly and university exam at the end of the academic year

Internships Opportunities

-Internship opportunities are offered with stipends of around Rs.5000. However campus placements are not offered -The interns are required to perform various tasks similar to a satff in that particular position

Fees and Financial Aid

-Thee fee structure is generally fixed and do not hike -Tuition fees is around Rs.11000 in the first year and then Rs .5870 yearly -Various central and state scholarships can be applied to -No Campus placements are available however internships with stipend are available

Campus Life

-The SPANDAN fest is conducted annually. -A fully equipped and functional library is located with in the campus with great collection of books -The classrooms are provided with projectors and screens and are air-conditioned -Sports facilities for all major sports are provided including football,basketball, athletics,badminton,cricket etc -The Jipmer Students Association is very functional. Others groups include Tech clubs, informals, sports clubs etc. -

Hostel Facilities

-Both double and single person accommodations are available and the rooms are provided with all the necessary facilities. -The mess menu is of average taste. -Hostel is alloted at the time of admission -The hostels are located within the campus

Hostel Fee: INR 20000 per year

Admission

-The admissions is solely based on NEET rank -All the information will be available on the JIPMER official w website -OBC,SC,ST,EWS,PwD etc reservations can be availed if eligible -NEET is conducted once every year , this year in May -The admission process is long and tedious

I also applied for ayurveda in kottakal arya vaidya sala and got a seat but I preferred studying in jipmer for a paramedical course rather than doing ayurveda. Jipmer is the second best medical college in India after aiims Delhi . The admission process here is quite different . JIPMER: Above and Beyond

I applied for AIIMS Delhi but I didn't get an admission because my AIR was 100. My second choice was JIPMER and I got into here. For admission into JIPMER, like any other medical college you are required to write the NEET UG exam and based upon your rank you can get admission into the college of your choice. For admission into AHS, you are again required to write the NEET UG exam. The cutoffs are really high for mbbs admission and it is usually around 300 AIR for the general category students....Read More

In NEET I got 404 and i applied in jipmer bsc counseling session which was via the official website. I got selected and my jipmer rank was 98. There was no separate jipmer exam as such but earlier it was there. Offline counseling session was there .
