JIPMER : better choice for better education

Curriculum of this course mainly focus on our skill development which gain my attraction. Exposure to the practical situation is impressive. They try to keep a balance between theoritical and practical studies. Sometimes the course curriculum get packed with lot of activities which make students to suffocate and sometimes it takes up the leaves that we are expected to receive.Internal exams are always used to be conducted between the theory or practical classes ,there is nocorrect leaves and correct preparation of students before exam even though these marks are considered for final exam. Our curriculum is simple and understandable which requires few changes. Mixing up of both theoretical and practical section makes students more tiring . A full day and then full day clinics is always better.

JIPMER is an autonomous college where internship for students is there for 6 month period which helps students to improve their skills and knowledge. They are provided with an amount of 12,000 per month during this period. As it is a college under central government which ranked top 5 in India getting job after finishing course from JIPMER is easier as students are trained accordingly. After the course completion almost of every students have gained job either abroad or other reputed hospitals. Students who wish to study further can also take tests which improve their talents and helps in earning more.

Fees structure is almost similar every year. Coures fees is around 6000, hostel fees 12000 . Around 3000 is our mess fees and other expenses include book, uniform, exam fees should be taken from our hands seperately. Around 60,000 to 70,000 will be our annual expense. NSP is the scholarship that can be applied by the students and other scholarships according to their caste and state can be applied by students . About 10,000 per year will be the scholarship amount. There is no stipend provided to the students . There is 6 month scholarship which is mandatiry after 3.5 years of course which comes with a salary of around 12,000 per month.

Campus provide us with a lot of activities. SPANDAN is the main cultural festive which is conducted in August.It is an intercollege festival which involves different medical colleges all over South India. Sports, culturals and athletics are conducted in SPANDAN.It lasts for 1 week. Interclass competitions are also conducted just before SPANDAN. There are different clubs and stadiums and people who are trained to teach students extracurricular activities. JSA is the only student run social group in our college which actively helps students in solving their problems. Our college and classbrooms are well facilitayed according to student needs. Proper AV aids such as slides are used in teaching which improves their attention and make class more interesting. Simulators for getting real patient experience is also provided. College of nursing has a library as well as a central library for everyone with internet facility is provided for better studying.

Hostel is seperayed for different courses as well as for different gender. Our has more than 300 rooms which are occupied with both BSC and MSC nursing students All MSC' s are provided with single rooms and there is triple rooms for others. Single rooms are provided to others who needed if they applied for it and willing to pay an extra 3000 rs per year. Registration of hostel is an online procedure done in tcsion site and 12,000 is the annual hostel fees. Every floor is occupied with water filters , toilets and bathrooms. There is washing area and cloth hanging facilities in every floor. There is washing machine with operator if we wish to wash cloths in machines. There is no mess in the hostel . Food can be delivered from outside or there are canteens inside the campus including a common mess which provide as food with good quality. JIPMER is located in a town area there are lot of houses available for renting but rend will be almost 5000-6000 as it is near a big hospital .

Admission process was completely based on NEET entrance exam for the past three year. Eligibility of the course is passing 10 th and 12th exam with with a pass mark and scoring minimum score in NEET exam. After application we are ranked according to our NEET score. There is 8 different categories of reservation involved in this admission process that is general, OBC, SC, ST , pondicherry general, OBC, SC, ST respectively. Admission is an offline process we should come to college with all our documents and counselling takes place there and students got admission. It would better to have an online admission as it is time saving and everyone can participate.
