Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course because this course provide both diagonostic and therapautic features. Also I would like to work in healthcare sector and i have an opportunity to use physics and maths along with basic medical sunjects. In our department we have excellent faculties with high experiance and they share their knowledge in more easy way to us. We find the bond in our department as team to be very healthy and respectful. We have exporsure for various cases to studied. As bsc students we have 3 internal exams 1 model exam and then final university exam. Nuclear medicine has developed so much and will be a great relief for the healthcare sector in the coming years.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Since I am a first year student I have a huge expectations about the intership in JIPMER. Internship was not mandotory until 2020 batch. So curr3ntly we don't have any interns in our department. From 2021 batch onwards internship is mandotory. I hope we will have a great wor experiance after passing out from here. I hope they provide a reasonable salary for our hardwork.

Fees and Financial Aid

I had joined the course in october 2023. In first year we had to pay 11000 rupees as academic fees and 20000 ruppees as hostel fees. These are to be paid annually. There are different mess available in JIPMER campus with a fees of 3000 ruppees per month. We have tje option to choose any mess of our choice. They provide good food. Coming to hostel, allied health students have a separate hostel. Comparing to MBBS students the hostel facilities are less for allied students. It would have been great if they provide same facilities for all students regardless MBBS or allied health. MBBS students have hostel in hostel complex. We have football turf, basketball court etc in the hostel complex. We can actively participate there. Also there are different types of scholarship we can apply in the first year of our course which will be a great aid for the family.

Campus Life

4

JIPMER is a big campus. We have different people coming from different parts of the world. It is a great experiance to share the culture, bond etc. We have SPANDAN which is held every year in our campus. It is one the biggest intercollege festival in India. Students from different colleges come and showcase their talents. Also we have different types of cultural events, sports meet whuch encourage students like me to actively participate in college events. Being in JIMPER doesn't mean we have to only focus on being a proffesional. Additionally we can always withhold our passion and our interest. All the faculties and students everyone will help us for the same too

Hostel Facilities

3.5

We have separate hostel for allied health students. Comparing to MBBS students we have a little less facility. But we can always enjoy with this environment. We have rooms of 2 sharing. 2 beds 1 cupboard 2 tables and 2 chairs will be provided. There will be bed also. If we want we can always ask. The food is quite ok. I would prefer saying that it woukd be much better if all the hostels are in hostel complex. Hygiene is comparitively less in ragard to MBBS hostel. 20000 ruppees is the annual rent of hostel. Which is I guess is quite affordable. With this amount the favilities are ok.

Admission

I chose bsc nuclear medicine technology. The eligibility was through neet examination. Application form will be available in the official website of JIPMER. Application process is completely free. After the date of application they will publich the rank list. With the necessary documents we have to attend the offline couselling conducted by JIPMER. The couselling was based on reservation level.
