Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Speaking about my year, the curriculum changed. We had to study four elective subjects, we had an "option" to choose the subjects but the thing is, it's like a competition, because the seats are limited ajd if someone doesn't click on it on time, then you won't be able to opt for it. I also dislike the fact that we have to study biology in a Computer Science program which is compulsory in first year.

Internships Opportunities

3

For now I do not want an internship as I am trying to improve my cgpa for now. But speaking about my peers, a good amount of them have got into internship programme in companies like IBM and HiRadius.

Placement Experience

3

Placement for my Branch is decent. The median package offered is like 7L p/a and for other branches it's a bit lower. I can't speak of the BCA or other branches because I don't have the information of other Schools. I plan to opt for a decent placement and after getting the work experience I am thinking of higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

One can get a scholarship if he has scored for a ninety percentile in the KIITEE exam or if he is the topper of that exam, then his full course will be for free. But it has a catch, the student has to have at least 75 percent overall attendance and at least 7.5 cgpa or his scholarship gets cancelled.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is decent, students have the availability of all kinds of entertainment as the college conducts a lot of functions and is located at a well developed area, so they can enjoy campus life quite good.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

College offers Ac three seater hostel(common bathroom), Ac two seater premium hostel (with attach bathroom) and non Ac two seater and three seater hostels, common bathroom. As a Non Ac three seater hostel boarder, the food varies from hostel to hostel, my hostel food is decent and bathrooms are cleaned in a gap of 2 days.

Admission

Talking about myself, my admission has been done through the entrance examination of KIIT university which is also known as KIITEE, as I opted for the B.tech programme in Computer Science and Engineering and I got in at the counselling.

Interview Experience

2.5

I don't have an answer to that question right now as I am still in the second year but as to what I've heard from my seniors, mostly questions are asked from Data structures, Java and Database Management Systems(DBMS).

For csit the subjects kee changing accroding to the trendy stuffs that are currently going on but it was really hard to keep with that when all your subjects are changed and you have o idea or previous year qs to geta reference from. Exams are conducted continously with no gaps and its not a easy stuff students get lot of stress but still somehow manage.

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.

Placement Experience:

Placements in our college are good but not great. Th overall performance of students getting placement from every branch course combined is more than seventy percent. But the percentage in branch to branch respective wise is different , as Computer science engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering and Electrical Engineering have higher placement rates than any other courses. From Seventh semester students became eligible for sitting in placements. You can say from the start of Fourth year students sit in placements. Many companies visit and offer placements to our students but the big companies are TCS( Tata consultancy services) , Infosys, Adani Limited , Reliance Limited , Tata Power and Co.. The highest package offered to our branch course ( Electrical Engineering ) Is 13 LPA by Tata Power. The percentage of students getting placed by Electrical Engineering is pretty good and is 77%. Overall percentage of students from all branches is 72%. My plans after getting the degree is simple. I am preparing for placements and also for gate exam . I want to give myself a chance . I will try to get a big placement from a big company as I want . If that doesn't go according to my plan I will try to qualify gate exam and will do Masters in Technology in a. Higher Institute.
