Likes

The facilities are so good and supportive. They help us a lot . They are well educated and qualified from reputed institutes and perused their btech,metch and phd from IITs and even from abroad.
The campus and college life is so good . It consists of 30+ campuses , 26 food courts , sports complex in almost every campus and gardens.
I like the anti ragging ecosystem and relationship among seniors, juniors, freshers and faculties. We've many clubs and societies too.

Dislikes

The placements are not upto the marks and lack in 100% placement.
The student intake is very high and increasing day by day.
The quality of students is not filtered as student intake is high so every category of students is present

Course Curriculum Overview

First year consists of basic subjects like physics, chemistry, biology, maths , ed graphics, engineering lab , electrical lab , yoga , english , computer lab and many more which makes you read for engineering. From second year , the curriculum enters to your main domain subjects which includes many including minor major subjects, projects and ppts.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 384000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is Tuition fees 192000 per semester and so 384000 per year. Registration fees and admission fees is 75000 which includes laptops and admission fees Scholarship aro also present depends on your rank in entrance exam KITTEE and also topper of every department every semester 30000 rs

Campus Life

There are several clubs and societies you can join like Coding club , technical clubs , robotics society, wordsmith, poetry, dancing and singing, sports and many more. Although fests and programmes goes on every week , a big college fest organized every year in months of Jan-Feb where renowned performers come .

Admission

I chose this College because I failed to qualify my JEE Mains exam. Also being a resident of west bengal, bhubaneswar is very close (6-7 hrs ) compared to other private institutions. Also I've heard good placement records and campus life from seniors who are already admitted in this college

Faculty

Faculty of students ratio is 1:50. The facilities are very supportive and helpful in nature. They also help us in research activities. I like Dr. Laxmi Priya Nayak (our math teacher) most and her teaching skills is maths is unmatched by other faculty. Exams are held every semester for 100 marks. 20 marks mid semester exam , 30 for internal and 50 marks for end semester.

Night Life

Yes , there is a big Central library situated infront of campus 3 where you can spend whole night studies and exploring ideas. Also there are 26 food courts and cafes to chill out and relax. Gym, swimming pool complex are present in almost every campus with many grounds. There are separate boys and girls hostel with an attached mess in every single hostel. Some famous spots in college are campus 6 , Rose garden, MBA garden ....etc

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

Life at NIST

Placement Experience:

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Value For money college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.

Placement Experience:

I am in my final year and 80% of my classmates including me are already placed. All top MNCs comes to our campus and currently most students are placed in the ranked of 10-20 LPA of CSE branch and top placement was of 52 LPA.

Placement Experience:

Placement are descent enogh. After 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement drive and become eligible for internships in 2nd year itself. Highest paid CTC was 39LPA and average package is around 10 LPA.

Comprehensive Review of Campus life at IIIT Bhubaneswar

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placementfrom the beginning of 7th semester. Major companies that visit include Oracle, Media.net, Tiger Analytics, Incture, Quantiphi, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Informatica and many others. The highest package offered was 24 LPA by Zscaler, while the average package for the electronics branch stands at 6 LPA. This year placements were affected by the recession, resulting in approx 100 students remaining unplaced.

First experience of iiit bhubaneswar

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for internship officially from 3rd yr and for placements 7th semester onwards. Recently oracle has visited and 4-6 gote in there with 26 LPA . Zscalara was also there around 15 LPA . Percentage last year was 80-85 ig. I think I will join as a software developer along with a carrier in photography but let's see what happens.

Things about kiit

You have to give kiitee exam the exam is tough but cutoff is low but there is no benefit of reservation. Exam fee is zero. I think cutoff should be increase be as there is lot of students but less than srm and vit. Hope you like this review...Read More
