Remarks

This college has very good placement stats as compared to other private colleges in the Eastern India. The faculty and staffs are supportive and help whenever asked.I opted for B.Tech in Information Technology as it is one of the most demanded area as per employment statistics.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is designed by keeping in mind the current industrial needs so that students are industry ready. Every year the curriculum is a bit modified keeping in view the industry trends.

Internships Opportunities

Highradius, 14000, This company comes specifically to KIIT for internships and recruitments. The process is online test, resume screening, video resume screening, academic and extracurricular screening,

Placement Experience

4.5

Total no. companies visited for 2020 batch is 220 which collectively offered 4200+ Job offers (Includes multiple offers to a student). Overall, the placement scenario is really good, however for Mechanical and Civil branches in B.Tech there is a little difficulty. But if you are a dedicated student, then you will get placed for sure.

College Events

5

In terms of Extra-curricular Activities, I would consider this as a hub of talents. This institute organises more than 500 events in a calendar year. Major events and fests include KIIT Fest, KIIT MUN, iCamp, Ted Talks and so many more.

Campus Life

4.5

The college is well equipped with world class sporting facilities. The cricket stadium is a regular home for Ranji matches. Other sporting facilities include Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Athletics, Football, Rugby, Archery, etc. The college recently organised national level KIUG (Khelo India University Games) in which students from all the universities participated. Here, every student is provided with free high speed WiFi. The WiFi bandwidth is pretty good as it is usually 10-12MBps and goes as high as 35MBps when traffic is less.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are classified into many categories, depending upon the money factor. There are separate hostels for boys and girls with round-the-clock wireless internet and intranet connectivity. About 30% of the hostel rooms are air conditioned. All the hostels have attached canteens serving good quality Indian and Continental foods. A dedicated international hostel accommodates foreign students. Each hostel has 24-hour reading room and facility for indoor and outdoor games. • Hygienic Kitchen & Dining Hall • Round the clock Internet and Intranet Facility • 24-hour Reading Room Facility • Facility for all types of indoor and outdoor games • Flooring with marble tiles • Good quality food

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
