Masters in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2023-2035

The course taught in our college are really great if we are willing to pursue higher studies and go for reasearch. But we consider for the industry perspective and looking for jobs most of the courses here are not relevant.

During the third semester of the master of technology, students are eligible to sit in campus placements. In the Electrical Engineering Department most of the top semiconductor companies like Intel qualcomm, micron, Texas instruments, onsemi, cadence, amd visited this year. Number of offers made is 80 out of 140 candidates. The highest package is 49 LPA by Qualcomm. 60 per cent got placed this year due to poor market conditions. I am going to work in a semiconductor company after completing my degree.

Tuition fee is 5000 per semester. It has not increased from several years. Complete cost will be around 2 lacs for 2 years. MHRD gives Scholarship of 12400 per month for performing Teaching assistanceship in the institute, 8 hours per week.

Three days Technical fest named Techkriti is held in the month of March every year. Cultural fest Antaragni occurs in October every year.All the relevant books and Journals are available in the library and easily accessible and regular updates are given on new additions.Classroom is air conditioned and smart with state of the art facilities. All the sports ranging from outdoor to indoor including gym and swimming pool is offered. There are many syudent run groups and clubs for every activities ranging from reading books, photography, film making, singing, dancing, astronomy, anime, sports, cycling, adventure, yoga, entrepreneurship, designing, etc and creates a all round developement of students.

10* 8 Single Room is provided and has a fan, almirah, table chair, bed, mirror. Washroom is shared. Washing machine is provided on a shared basis. Hostel has a canteen, stationary shop. Meal quality is good and balanced. Menu is diverse and changes every day considering the requirements of different religious communities and health conditions. Hostel is designed caring for specially abled candidates. Hostel is very affordable and registeration process is smooth.

Elegibility is to have a btech degree in the same stream and qualified GATE exam (graduate aptitude test for engineers) with good Score. Applocation form can be founded on the website of gate exam. Application fees is 1700 per paper. Application form is filled in the month of September and exam occurs in February first week. I have not availed any reservation. Exam occurs once every year and not difficult. Problem Solving approach and solving PYQs and giving test series suffice for good score. It would be good if this exam is conducted twice a year.
