Campus Life and Placements at NIT JAMSHEDPUR

I had a Interest in mechanical aspects since starting so i opted this field, the subdomains involves Fluids, CFD, Robotics, IC Engines, RAC and many more Circullam have both theoretical and Real life applications in form of Minor and Major Projects, Learning by Doing and Colloquium as part of Academic Syllabus. The area of improvement can be purchase of new generation lab equipments.

Tata Steel, TSUISL, JSL, TSDPL, ATLASSIAN, BNY, RELAINCE etc companies visit our campus for internships. The projects can differ from the company to company as per there requirements and needs. The internship opportunities is quite less but you get to know the placement scenarios and become ready for future placements.

From semester 5th students are eligible for campus placements (internships with PPO) and from 7th to 6 MONTH + FTE/PPO. There are many companies visited campus over more than 400 and placement percentage is 97+ overall, Mechanical had a 98 percentage placement with Average of 10.5 Lakhs, common known companies are, Amazon, BNY, Atlassian, GE, Tata Steel, Flipkart, Paypal, ICICI, ZS, EXONN MOBIL etc. Highest package made is : 86 Lakhs Annual I want to ppt for higher studies or Entrepreneurship after the degree.

Tuition fee is about 75000 each semester and depends on your family income, if it's below 1 Lakh it will fully remissed, 1-5 Lakh 2/3 will be remissed, more than 5 Lakh you have to pay whole no remission. Tuition fee will not hike after admission remains constant. There are many on or off campus scholarship that you can avail accordingly also there are many alumni scholarships. Other than that mess fee is 18000 per semester. And Total sum of all cost is 1,16,000 each semester. You have to pay Library, Building other charges that are not much. Some of the available scholarships are FFE, TATA CUMMINGS, ALIMNI FUNDS ETC. You will get a decent placement here as per placements it is one of the top institution of India.

The annual techno-management fest is OJASS typically helds in month of March, and hosts variety of events and guest lectures. There are total of 10 a technical teams from ATV, F2 Racing, Aeromodelling, Coding, IOTs, Robotics and etc. Other than these there are many societies. There are many workshop hosted around the year in different domain. There several research funds specially for Btech students and also seed funds for startups. Other than this college hosts 7 branch fests of different domains. Library consist most of the required books with subscription of journals on your official mails. On cultural side we have our cultural fest CULFEST that takes place generally in month of February and hosts varities of events and Star Nights, we have 6 Cultural teams and the workshop takes place all around the year from Team of Music, Dance, Drama, Literature etc. Our annual Sports fest is URJA and There are total of 10 sports domains. There also NSS, E-CELL clubs in the campus

For boys: In first year you will be given a double sharing room with seperate cupboards quite spacious. From second year onwards you will get single room with attached balcony and cupboards. Each room consis of Lan Ports, Charing Board, Study Table, Chair, Fan and Bed. For Girls: Girls gate a large room but triple sharing and with seperate cupboards. Other items remains same. Future: 2 new mega hostels construction will be finished by the end of 2024 and boys will get single rooms from first year and girls will get double sharing rooms. Mess food is quite good, you will be served 4 times a day. Menu can be changed by Hostel Elective Committe that is Student Body of Hostel. Hostels are automatically allocated on registration, you can withdraw form it after the first semester by making an application to Cheif Warden. There is Renting room Near by but cost if high .

I have cleared JEE Mains with AIR of 36,000/- and got the Mechanical Branch in CSAB 2ND Round, 75 percent in your 12th is compulsory, Rank varries year to year for admission. After Counselling you have to visit the campus with the documents you submitted during counseling to certification. You have to submit the total fees of first Semester that is 1,16,000 in advance that also counts the fee you submitted during counseling. If your Fee Remission is verified you will get refund of the excess money and also you have to pay the amount that comes after remission from next semester. Exam takes place twice per semester, Mid sem and End Sem (4 per year). The difficulty varies as per subjects and Professor, you call it medium. The admission process can be made easy by verifying the Fee Remission documents before the Admission reducing burden on parents.
