Out of nit there are lot of visiting places

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is quiet good for every students' interest. It follows the good placements in Final year. But it is better to teach coding language in 2nd year in other branches also beside cse. Exams are somewhat difficult but ok

Placement Experience

Placements are decent and satisfied. Almost placement percentage is more than 90% and average package is more than 15 lpa . For my course ece it is 24 lpa. Many students are choosing this collage due to placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Of course the fee is in large amount for open categories. It is approx 1.2 lakhs for tution and 70k for mess and hostle. Some extra charges are also charged. You have a lot of scholarship opportunities according to your category. I'm currently receiving ffe

Campus Life

Campus Life is just ok but not as expected. Fests and active clubs are less comparing with other Nit's but better than other engineering colleges. Sports activities are also decently performing in this nit.

Hostel Facilities

Actually I'm from Andhra Pradesh. The mess food is better than my expectations. ofcourse the food is not much good but it is better than other northern Nit's . Non vedge and vedge items are available here.

Hostel Fee: INR 64000 per year

Admission

The admission in nit Jamshedpur is through jee mains. It is also one of toughest exam in India. You need to qualify you category percentile in it. Because it also have reservations. You need to get min 14000 rank in jee mains open category to get seat in nit Jamshedpur ece

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
