Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose Electronics and Communication branch of BTech. The curriculum of this branch is mainly the study of circuits which include designing and structuring of analog various complex and advanced level circuits. This provide students to have a in hand experience with the circuits and help them prepare for their dream job. Along with this the course offere classes in programming languanges including C+,java and python. Soft skills such as communication skills, interview skills and logical and aptitude training is provided in this curriculum. These subjects prepare the students in such a way that they can present themselves in a nuanced and impressive manner once they enter their jobs. These also help in character building and imrpoves one's understanding of their own self. The teaching methods are simple and effective in VIT. The faculty include various assignments and presentations along with the day to day teaching of the subject.Exams are conducted in three phases CAT-1,CAT-2 and FAT.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the end of the 4th year. The average CTC is 8.19 LPA in the college with the lowet being 3.7LPA and two students have secured 1cr+ LPA in canpus placements. The major companies that approach the college for campus placements are Microsoft, Amazon, Infosys, Hero, ITC and Mahindra. As for me, the plan after after completing my bachelors degree is to go for masters and pursue my interest in weapon engineering.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees should be paid online through the website of VIT within an alloted date. The tution fees varies according to the fee category of the student and the course they choose. My course fee is almost 5 lakh per year which can be divided to 2 lakh advance payment and 3 lakh tution fees during the time of commencement of the classes. Other than that the hostel fees also varies according to the type of room the student choose. There 2 bed 4 bed and 6 bed rooms with Ac and non-Ac facilities. Staying in pg is not allowed for first year students who live beyond 100km radius of the college. There are certain criterias in the college brochure where the scholarships are mentioned. In the third year the students with no backlogs are eligible for internships. The college provides internship opportunities for the students through University career services, departmental notices and online portals. During the 7th and 8th sem placement training is given to the students for campus selections.

Campus Life

4

There are a lot of events conducted by various clubs in the campus. Since there are students from different parts of the country studying in the college, there are a lot of clubs run by the students. These clubs organizes various events for the students which includes workshops fun games and a platform to express your talent. Annualy the college conducts TechnoVIT which is a 3 day programme organized for students to experience a lot of workshop activities and they also include a lot of fun games. The vibrance event is held annually which is a college fest where celebrities come a perform in front of the students. The library is a 2 storey building which offers wide variety of books and journals. There huge amount of books which include lecture books, novels and magazines. It a great spot to prepare for the examinations. A lot of sports activites and events are organised during the annuals events as tournaments. Also the students can obtain sports equipments from the PE room.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I have opted for a 6 bed Ac room. The hostel fees for me comes jst under 2 lakhs per year. The rooms are routinely cleaned by house keeping and any maintenance work is done efficiently by the workers. The rooms are clean and have good ventilation. The hostel has a snacks shop and stationary shop along with vending machines. Mess comes in theee categories- veg, non-veg, and special mess. I have opted for non-veg mess and it is an average experience for me. The food is good some days and the rest of the days of the week it is not good. The hostel has a night mess where the food is paid and it has some good varities of food. The laundry services for the students are available in two ways. One is the paid laundry which charges 15 per piece called the profab and the other is the free laundry called chota dobhi which collects your clothes and wash them in two days. We have to collect our clothes from the chota dhobhi laundry

Admission

I got to know about the application for the VITEEE(VIT Engineering Entrance Examination) through my coaching centre. The college itself had a great image in the student's mind and a lot of students like me wanted to join VIT. The application form and details regarding the same was available in the website of VIT. I was required to submit an online application through their website which included my personal and academic details. Then i had to book a slot for my examination. The exam is conducted on multiple days to occupy large number of applicants. The test assess the students in subjects such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, english and biology. After the exams the reults are published within a month and students can select the course and campus of their choice according to the marks they secured. The marks also determine which fee category you come under while opting the courses. There are certain reservational benefits in VIT. Some of them include NRI quota and NCL.
