What Students Say
Likes
- The huge number of events- both technical and cultural, held in the College are great.
- The facilities and prompt action upon complaints is amazing.
- The ffcs system provides great flexibility and also there's this rule where 9 pointers don't have to follow the 75% attendance rule that's very good and provides a lot of time to follow other interests.
Dislikes
- The rules are very strict for girls, in time is 8 pm and there are many clothing restrictions.
- The student intake is very high due to which there is huge competition everywhere. There are crowds even for lifts and mess food.
- The procedures for outings and leaves, especially for girls, are really strict.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are 3 exams in one semester- 2 cats (continuous assessment tests) and one fat ( final assessment test). Other than that, 2 assignments and a quiz are also conducted which also carry marks. The curriculum is fine and gets updated every year to meet the necessary requirements. Some faculties are really good while some are very bad as well. You have the ffcs system which gives you the flexibility of choosing your teachers and class timings according to your cgpa.
Internships Opportunities
There are many companies that start coming from the beginning of the third year (5th semester) for internship opportunities. There are some very good companies as well. The stipend can be around 40-50k

Campus Life
There are 2 main fests held every year- a technical fest called technovit (around October) and a cultural fest called Vibrance (around March). A large variety of books and eBooks are there in the library. The library is really well established. Many sports events are held frequently, and the college being close to IIT Madras and IIIT Kancheepuram, students go for their sports competitions as well. A huge number of casual events are held on a daily basis including dancing, music, fashion shows, comedy shows etc as well as technical workshops, seminars. Lots of hackathon are also conducted. There are many clubs and chapters in each department. For technical clubs, there are Android club, coding club, Google developers club, Linux club, robotics club, game developer club and many more. In cultural clubs there are dramatics club, dance club, music club, culinary club, teaching club, mental health club, etc. There are regional clubs as well like Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Sangam (UP-Bihar) etc
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are of good quality. I am in a 4 seater non AC room. There are wall fans for each bunker bed, an almirah,a study table with a table light and white board is provided for every one. There are free laundry and cleaning facilities provided in the hostel. There's a night mess which operates from 9pm to 12:30 am. There's a fruits and juice shop where all sorts of fruits and juices are available at ok prices. There are seperate veg mess, non veg mess and special mess. The food is ok mostly. But the hostel and mess is a bit expensive.
Admission
They conduct a seperate entrance exam called VITEEE. It's conducted around April-May. There are no such reservations but there is a category system which is given according to your VITEEE rank. There are 5 categories and fees increases with each category. First category student have to pay around 2L per year while fifth category students have to pay around 5L per year. The level of exam is very easy compared to jee mains.
