Course Curriculum Overview
As far as my course is concerned.. Here in VIT the toughest course is Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Also the course of EEE is ranked highest in the ranking scheme which adds the spice to the story.. Meaning that though it is the toughest course in the college.. But the advanced labs and students research with help of good faculties made it possible to be the highest ranked course.. Also all the labs have good facilities wherein one can learn the core part of electrical. Also the lab staffs are so friendly so even if you're not a part of the lab you can come visit the place to get an experience on how the atmosphere is going to be in the lab session. Hope it helps
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities in VIT are also good because you'll get a lot of internships through your mail I'd which will be provided to you once joined .. Also you'll get to know about lots of hackathons and ideathons wherein they'll be giving internships to the deserving students.. Once you are in your 3rd year of BTech and 4th year of Integrated MTech you'll be getting a lots of mails regarding your internships on availability and on the area of iinterests.. Like core has separate internship and the non- core has seperate.. Hope it helps
Placement Experience
As far as I've heard the on campus placements are good and vast number of companies visit VIT.. You'll get a greater edge over the other private colleges.. Also they start your placement training an year before the placements.. Also they provide you with lots of internships which might help you in building your resume strong.. Also even if you don't stand a chance in the on campus placements.. The core field knowledge you gain from your course is enough to appear for any govt. Examinations so you don't have to worry about the placements right from the day of joining.. Just focus on improving your skills and you're all set.. Hope it helps
Fees and Financial Aid
Regarding the course fee.. There are category wise fee structure wherein you'll get your category based on the rank which you've obtained in VITEEE examination. The starting for BTech starts from around 1.5L per year ( category-1 ) to 5L per year (category 5) and for business school it is way less. Also the hostel fee structure is based on the sharing of room( like 3 , 4 n 6 bedded rooms) with AC, without AC, veg mess, non-veg mess, special mess.. So all these factors make up your hostel fee. Hope it helps
Campus Life
You see regarding the campus life here in VIT Chennai is good .. You'll get to know that the evenings here get pleasant although it is scorching right from the morning. Also regarding the clubs in VIT Chennai.. You'll see a lot of clubs in which you can be a part of.. Also you'll have a chance to take part in special teams wherein they have various workshops being held almost everyday. And infrastructure wise everything seems to be good till now as it's been 2 years in the college and feel everything's going good.. Hope it helps
Admission
Okay so for admission process in VIT you'll have to write an entrance exam called VITEEE which is almost like JEE but with some minor changes in marking schemes. You don't have to prepare for it separately.. Your regular JEE preparation is enough for attending VITEEE. The difficulty of the examination is not as difficult compared to JEE but yeah you have to be well prepared for securing a good rank. The examination takes place once in a year near almost between March - May. You'll know everything about the examination criteria in their online portal.. Hope it helps
