Dislikes
- While the quality of the mess food is satisfactory, the mess committee can still look for improvements in the daily menus. This can ensure that food wastage is minimized to a greater extent.
- The course pedagogy can be more focused on imparting the practical aspects of business than on the theoretical side. Faculty can explore ways to incorporate the same for the coming batches.
Course Curriculum Overview
Master's of Business Administration offered by SIBM Nagpur is a comprehensive course which ensures holistic development of the students. Students can opt for any of the specialization i.e Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Operations and Business Analytics. MBA course offered by the Institute makes the students ready to handle the complex problems of the ever evolving business environment. Being a graduate with finance as my specialization, I wanted to broaden by learning horizon by delving deeper into the intricate and rewarding world of finance. Subjects like Financial Modeling, Financial Econometrics, Securities Analysis and Portfolio Management drew my attention. The extensive use of spreadsheets and various platforms like E-views, Tally ERP, SPSS prepares students to be corporate ready. The exams conducted by the Institute tests whether the students are able to apply theory to practice.
Internships Opportunities
SIBM Nagpur saw a spike in terms of numbers of companies visiting the campus and offering interships opportunities to the students. Some of the prominent companies include TATA AIG, VECV , Fujitsu, Zara, Bajaj Finance Ltd, Tech Mahindra and many more. The highest stipend has been Rs 45,000. The duration of the internship is 2 months (mandatory), however the same can be extendable to maximum 3 months. The objective of the Summer Internship is to ensure that students are apply to apply the theory leant in classroom to practical and real business problems. Moreover, it aims to give a corporate exposure to students
Placement Experience
Being 4 year since its inception, the average package stands at 11.5 LPA, the lowest package is 8 LPA. Once students complete their summer internship program, they become eligible to participate in the Final Placement Drive provdided they clear their First Year end term examinations. For the current assessment year, more than 80 companies have come on board for campus placements. The roles offered are Customer Relationship Manager, Key Account Managers, Operations Manager, Finance Specialist any many more. At present 75% of the batch is placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The Institute however does not provide campus employment opportunities, which could be one of the avenues the Institute can explore. The Placement Team of the campus does connect with the corporates to offer paid live projects to the students to upskill themselves. The students have to mandatorily undertake Summer Internship for 2 months which is extendable upto 3 months. Likewise the Placements Team is also responsible for providing Final Placements Opportunities to the students. Campus Life
The campus life is pretty amazing especially in the evening and at night. The colleges does organizes various fests like BzaarBulevard 2.0, Rangisaari, Manifest to enages students in various fun activities. There was a grand celebration on campus druing Ganesh Chaturthi. The campus has 3 floors of library with books across all generes, both technical and managerial and many more. The overall infrastructure of the library is amazing and meets the students expectations. The Institute has many clubs like Finomics (Finance Club) , Opclava (Operations Club), Markiosys (Marketing Club) etc which organizes various events frequently. The Sports commitee also organizes games like cricket, Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Chess and many more. The classroom infrastrcture is satisfactory and provides a good learning environment.
Hostel Facilities
Students have the option of opting for double, triple, and 4 sharing rooms. The fees charged varies accordingly. The rooms are quite spacious and overlooks the dome. Students get a bed, cupboard, studytable, bucket, hangers etc. The hostel has 7 floors. The quality of the mess food is satisfactory. However, there still stands room for improvement in the daily menu. Students can also opt for getting food at paid counters located just besides it.
Admission
The admission process for getting into SIBM Nagpur was quite rigorous. Candidates had to clear 4 rounds. Candidates had to firstly clear the SNAP exam, after which the students proceeded with the second round which comprised of the Written Aptitude Test. This stage was followed by Group Discussion and finally a Personal Interview Process. Except the SNAP exam which was conducted offline, the entire process was conducted online in a systematic and meticulous manner. Candidates who has a minimum educational qualification of a bachelor's degree or higher were eligible to apply for Master's of Business Administration at SIBM Nagpur. Interview Experience
Yes, for any candidate to secure admission into SIBM Nagpur, he/she has to mandatorily go through the entire Group Discussion , Written Aptitude Tets and Personal Interview Process. The topic for my Group Discussion was: If Aliens invaded Earth. Some of the interview questions asked were as follows: 1) What is the full form of ARMY. 2) What is the formula for FCFF and FCFE 3) What do you mean by Price/Earnings ratio. I went through all my Undergraduation study material to prepare myself on the technical front. Browsed the internet to be abressed with the current affairs and many more.
