Course Curriculum Overview
My decision of choosing electrical as my course was my own interest of how the electric appliances work and how power is generated in the varies industries. And it was also a little bit easier course for me as compared to ECE. This curriculum prepares an individual by giving them the basic knowledge of how the basic electrical things around us work, which fascinates me personally. There is no such flaw in the teaching methods according to me. But if the course can also include a field visit to what we are taught in the class. Two exams are taken during a semester and the difficulty varies from teacher to teacher.
Internships Opportunities
The NIT tag of this college plays very important role in drawing the companies to the college. Which in turn leads to very decent placement for the students, also during the period of recession. The companies that offer internships are JP Morgan,D.E.shaw and Marvel which hire the students for various roles.
Placement Experience
The placements of the college are excellent and if you try a little hard from your own side you can get a very good placement which has no upper cap. Percentage of the students placed is also very decent as around 90% of the students get placed. The highest package for the last year was 64 lakhs and the average package was 18 lakhs My plans after the degree is to get a decent paying job and live a happy life.
Fees and Financial Aid
The structure of the course fees is very basic including the fees for computer labs and a little amount for the fests that take place in the college. The cost of the course is around 9-10 lakhs excluding the miscellaneous expenses, which can amount to 1-2 lakhs according to the individual over the period of 4 years. Ample scholarships are also provided for the students belonging to economically unstable background. This includes the remission of tuition fees which is about 64000 for a semester.
Campus Life
The overall experience of the campus is very nice and worth living. Regural fests and events are also held in the college, namely Sphinx(tech fest), Blitzlag(cultural fest) and MST(Malviya Sports Tournament). All types of books are available in the college library of all the departments. Classes are just like any other college but the teaching level is not that high as it being a government establishment. A variety of sports facilities are available at the college, like basketball, cricket, football, volleyball, handball, take tennis, lawn tennis and badminton and athletics.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities According to me is very poor and the quality of food, especially in Vinodini and Aurobindo hostel is very poor. The menu of the the mess is very big and includes everyone's dream foods but the quality of the served food is very bad and there is a dire need to increase the quantity. There is no need to register for hostel as you are allotted a hostel during your registration.
Admission
The college admission process was very smooth. The seniors are very helpful. The eligibility criteria for the course is 75% in 12th board and the cutoff of JOSAA. There is no such application form but the admission takes place through JOSAA only. The reservation benefits are very good and very effective while taking admission in this college. Two exams are conducted during a semester, one being mid sem and other being end sem. The difficulty of the paper varies from the teacher to teacher. Some teachers also take frequent quizzes. According to me there is no such flaw in the admission process by the college.
