Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum focuses more on practical experience and is highly knowledge oriented. Law is not a subject to mug up. Rather , experiential learning, practical knowledge is more important with a lot of moot courts, moot parliament, debates, and speech competitions.

Internships Opportunities

5

My department provided me with two interships in three semesters. The first intership was under a judge, Justice Mr. VK Birla in Allahabad High Court in my 2nd semester of BA.LLB followed by another intership in 3rd Semester at National Green Tribunal, Delhi under Justice Mr.Sudhir Agarwal.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have received a scholarship based on my 12 class marksheet that is 75% scholarship on tution fees, amounting to 37500 per year. The hostel fee is a bit expensive with 85000 annually, the hostel fees was 75000 earlier.

Campus Life

3.5

We have an inspires day every year in the month of February for 3 continous days. We also have recently celebrated our cultural festival "Sangeetam" which is organized every two or three years. I being a law student is absolutely in love with the availability of numerous books in our campus library, we have a separate library for law students also. The classrooms are technically advanced and have audio and visual learning accessibilities. We have a number of clubs which are student run with faculty coordinators.

Hostel Facilities

2

I occupy a room of 3 where each of us are given a bed, a table and chair and a small cupboard. The hostel has 24 hours water and electricity availability and a daily cleaning assistance. There are 6 common toilets and 4 washrooms each side of a floor. The meal quality is very poor and unhygienic. They have a fixed menu for each day of a week which is repeated. I pay 85000 for a room of three, which is expensive and the registration process is quiet easy. The hostel is in college itself which is a con in itself and an interference of privacy.

Admission

The eligibility criteria is that a student must have a document like 12 pass certification along with transfer certificate and migration certificate. There are three exams per semester Exam 1, Exam 2 which are comparably easier than that of the last semester end exam, that is, Exam 3. The college website has all the details about its courses, fee structure and the application form is easily accessible.

Placement Experience:

Placements for law school are very very low indeed and out of total 180 students not more than 20-30 even get placed. Seminars and top brass are invited to guide students how can they take their career forward but not many direct placements happen.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well structured and is divided across 10 semesters so that the students don't get overburdened. The three year llb gets hectic. That's why i chose this course. The curriculum includes moot courts and drafting which is very helpful for further pursuits in law. The mandatory presentation in each semester builds confidence. However, I'd suggest preparing students for moot courts by focussing more on the moot court society will further sharpen the eloquence of the students. The exams are conducted twice in a semester and are moderately difficult.

Not many as placements are less and just a handful like from a batch of 180 in all, 30-40 students are placed from campus. Mostly it's the two tier law firms that comes and offer us quite less as well.

Placements are not many and to be realistic only 25% students or so get jobs from here. It is quite less indeed but that is how it is and some corporate houses who have branding issues are the ones that hire some students from here. Most students try to find joh outside only.

Students from third year have started getting Pre-Placement Offers, but many of those are majorly due to their own accomplishments. Students get ample amount of time to intern at various law firms and courts, to secure a PPO on their own. In addition to this, the Internship and Placement Committee, often comes in aid to secure PPOs for the students of the graduating batch.
