Remarks
Overall if you want to study in a good college without paying a lot then it should be the natural choice for you. You will meet a lot of people from various backgrounds. So overall it's a good college and should we seriously looked at as an option and considered during your admission process. The college management is pretty effective and its own it has its good and bad days. Sometimes you will just switch from one person to another to get the slightest thing get done. I feel that it is the only drawback of the college management otherwise the rest of it is really good and efficient.
Entrance Preview
The entrance exam which I had to undergo was IIT JEE. I scored 105 in that exam. I always wanted a government college and LD was the best choice at that point in time.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is well shaped and defined. The first year will consist of common subjects for people from all the branches. This is done in order to make you familiar with the concepts. Then the second year consists of branch-specific subjects but the basic ones. The third year is the most dreaded one and it has hardcore branch subjects. The final year has fewer subjects that any of the other semesters.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the college does provide internships.
College Events
There are a lot of events that take place during an academic year there are cultural fest and their technical fest which take place both at the university level and the college level. The first called Lakshya is the annual technical fest which is organized by the college for the people of the college as well as for the people from different colleges.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The reason most of the people choose LD is that it is a government college and since this is a government college the fees are very nominal and very inexpensive. The fees for 1 semester was 1500 rupees only. After adding every other expense the first semester fees for one person would not exceed 2500 rupees. This is the specialty of the college that you get really inexpensive but quality education and a very good campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are awarded to meritorious students. Apart from that, students who are economically on the weaker side, are provided with tuition fee waiver and scholarships under the Gujarat government's initiative.
Campus Life
That gender ratio is not that great considering this is an engineering college. There are branches like computer science and it which has occurred and gender ratio whereas the core branches have a not so decent ratio. Branches like biomedical have more girls than boys. Workshops are organized frequently by the respective branches wherein industry people are called to deliver lectures and impart their knowledge to the students.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are good the students are provided with individual beds mattresses study table lockers. The hostel is awarded on the basis of merit. But there are a lot of rooms so generally everyone gets space. The mess food is not that good. It's not of the highest standard. In case someone wants to live in a PG, the rates are not that high. You can easily find good PGs within 7-8K per month in the vicinity of the college.
Exam Structure
Exams are structured in two phases. The first one would include a midterm exam which generally takes place in the middle of the semester whereas the end semester exams would be the long exams it should happen at the end of the semester after completion of 5 months.
Admission
So it was an amalgamation of PCM percentage and JEE marks in the ration of 60:40. Then everything was almost online without any hassle. You just have to put in your college preferences on the admission portal. And according to the cutoff for each course, you'll get admission. After that, you have to visit ACPC or any other admission center with your documents and lock your admission by paying the admission fee. That was it. Administration is transparent, decently paced and friendly.
Faculty
The faculty is top notch. Very well versed and experienced. As far as I know, all of them are involved a lot in their subjects. The only drawback is that sometimes they tend to speak in the regional dialect which makes it difficult for students not from the state to understand. Apart from this, it's all good and you can rely on them for a good and experienced learning.
