Likes

Hostel,mess facilities and the lecture hall complex with centralised air conditioner.
Transportation facilities are also available.
Greenery is everywhere and a lot of space wander.

Dislikes

The weather of this city is in warmer side.
A lot of area is not utilised and not so clean.
Open campus issues is the big issue , college is working on this issue.

Electrical is the branch which is known as toughest branch in engineering but I get this branch because of my rank, but this is the branch which gets the benefit in many government vacancies and one can prepare for IT jobs also.

From 3rd year onwards companies come for the internship round,the students who are eligible gets the opportunity of internship,it's difficult then the placement as not all the students get the internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure is lower than the iits but there are many scholarships also for state wise students and if not possible then there is education loan also provided by the college's bank.E-kalyan is very famous here.

Campus Life

Culfest is organised here every year which is our one of the best cultural fest where all the students refreshes their mind and enjoy a lot. And the tech fest is the best tech fest of asia organised here by the name of OJASS.

Hostel Facilities

Students get double sitting room in 1st year and single sitting room from 2nd year onwards,we get chair-table, bed, almirah and lan connection for each , also filters are available for drinking water. Mess quality is decent.

Hostel Fee: INR 65000 per year

Admission

To take admission in this college you need to prepare for JEE Mains exam and the cut off for this college is nearly 96-98 percentile increasing day by day,If you belong to any category then it gives benefit in admission procedure as well as in tuition fees.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
